Scholar gives an assistant the scholarly record instead of a memory of it. Search: Crossref's 170M+ records by topic and author, filtered by year and type, sorted by relevance, citations or date, with abstracts where deposited. Paper: full metadata for a DOI — authors with ORCIDs, venue, volume/issue/pages, citation and reference counts, reference DOIs, funders, license — plus Unpaywall open-access status and best free copy, and a Semantic Scholar tl;dr when available. Cite: the DOI registry's own formatter in APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, IEEE, Vancouver, Nature, ACM, AMA or BibTeX. arXiv: search by words and category, the newest submissions in a field, any paper by id with abstract and PDF. Biomedical: PubMed with full query syntax, structured abstracts, MeSH terms and free full-text links; Europe PMC with preprints, citation counts and open-access flags. Authors: ORCID identity, institutions and works, most-cited papers from Crossref. Journals by name or ISSN with output per year. Keyless; nothing stored.
