About

Shortcutkey bundles well-known, cross-platform keyboard-shortcut conventions, organized generically by software category rather than as any single branded product's shortcut list. shortcuts_by_category lists every shortcut in one of 9 categories (word processor, spreadsheet, web browser, os-level, email client, presentation software, code editor, terminal, PDF viewer); category_list shows them all with counts. search_shortcuts does a keyword search. shortcut_for_action looks up an action, optionally filtered to windows or mac. platform_diff shows an action's Windows and Mac keys side by side. convert_shortcut_to_mac and convert_shortcut_to_windows perform real computed modifier-key substitution (Ctrl<->Cmd, Alt<->Option, Enter<->Return) on a shortcut string. beginner_shortcuts gives the handful most worth learning first. shortcut_glossary defines modifier-key terms. random_shortcut_tip surfaces a useful, less-obvious shortcut. Keyless; fully local; nothing stored.

Sources: Hand-curated from widely-published, cross-platform shortcut conventions (not any single branded product); Windows<->Mac conversion is computed modifier-key token substitution; fully local, zero upstream calls

What Shortcutkey is for

"How do I select all", "what's Ctrl+Shift+T on Mac", "what are the must-know browser shortcuts" — the widely-shared conventions, organized by what kind of software you're using, not tied to any one product.

What it does

shortcuts_by_category lists every shortcut in one of 9 generic categories: word processor, spreadsheet, web browser, os-level, email client, presentation software, code editor, terminal, PDF viewer. category_list shows them all with counts. search_shortcuts does a keyword search across action, category and notes. shortcut_for_action looks up a specific action, optionally filtered to Windows or Mac keys. platform_diff puts an action's Windows and Mac keys side by side. convert_shortcut_to_mac and convert_shortcut_to_windows do real computed modifier-key substitution on a shortcut string you give them (Ctrl <-> Cmd, Alt <-> Option, Enter <-> Return) — genuine token-level conversion, not a lookup. beginner_shortcuts gives the handful most worth learning first, overall or per category. shortcut_glossary defines modifier-key terms (Ctrl, Cmd, Option, Meta, chord, Fn key). random_shortcut_tip surfaces a useful, less-obvious one.

What it is not

Every entry describes a widely-published, cross-platform convention shared across many applications in that category — Ctrl+C for copy, Ctrl+F for find, and so on — never a specific branded product's exact shortcut list. Individual applications sometimes bind an action differently (search, forward, and multi-cursor bindings vary more than most), and notes flag the handful of entries where that's especially likely. The Windows<->Mac converter performs direct modifier-key substitution on the text you give it; it doesn't verify that the resulting combination is actually bound to the same action in a specific app.

Privacy policy

Shortcutkey — Privacy Policy

Effective 25 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Shortcutkey is. Shortcutkey is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated keyboard-shortcut reference across generic software categories, plus computed Windows/Mac shortcut-notation conversion. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one request.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a category, a search keyword, an action to look up, or a shortcut string to convert — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is computed on our server and nothing is stored. Every tool is a local calculation or a lookup against a bundled, hand-curated reference; no request is forwarded to any third party. Text you submit is processed for that one response and is not logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts, or account credentials, and we do not build a profile from your requests: each one is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — every tool is computed or looked up locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Shortcutkey is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

Shortcutkey — Terms of Service

Effective 25 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Shortcutkey connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Shortcutkey provides a hand-curated keyboard-shortcut reference across generic software categories, plus computed Windows/Mac shortcut-notation conversion, computed or looked up entirely on our server. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. General information, not professional advice. Shortcutkey's output is a drafting aid and reference tool. It is not legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice, and nothing it generates should be treated as a final, authoritative, or verified document without your own review.
  3. Original output. Templates, messages, and reference content generated or bundled by the Service are original compositions or hand-curated summaries of publicly known conventions — not reproductions of any single copyrighted source. You are responsible for reviewing and adapting anything generated before you rely on or send it.
  4. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome.
  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your input is answered on our server and nothing is stored.
  7. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  8. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on the Service. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  9. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
