Stacks — Terms of Service

Effective 23 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Stacks connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Stacks returns book, author and archive information — catalogue searches, works, editions and ISBNs, authors, subjects, public-domain texts, audiobooks, Internet Archive items and Wayback Machine snapshots — from public sources. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. Sources and licences. Catalogue data from Open Library (CC0); public-domain texts and catalogue from Project Gutenberg (the Project Gutenberg trademark and licence apply to redistributed ebooks; texts are public domain in the United States, and you are responsible for checking the law where you are); audiobooks from LibriVox (public domain); item metadata and Wayback snapshots from the Internet Archive under its terms. Covers, images and trademarks belong to their owners.
  3. Accuracy. Catalogue records are community-maintained and can be incomplete or duplicated; ratings are reader ratings; download links point to the sources and can change.
  4. Acceptable use. Do not use the Service to bulk-scrape the sources, to circumvent rate limits, or to republish archived web pages in breach of their owners' rights. Automated use within the published limits is welcome.
  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is forwarded and nothing is stored.
  7. Attribution. Open Library; Project Gutenberg; LibriVox; Internet Archive / Wayback Machine.
  8. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  9. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on the Service. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  10. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
