About

Trainplan generates a real, computed week-by-week running training plan rather than returning a static template. training_plan builds the full schedule (rest/easy/tempo/long-run days with distances in km) for a 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon, for a beginner or intermediate runner, over the weeks and days-per-week you specify. It applies standard, widely published progression rules: weekly volume increases by no more than about 10% from one week to the next; every 4th week is a cutback (recovery) week that drops volume back roughly 25% before the climb resumes; the plan tapers over the final 1-3 weeks before race day (longer for longer races); and the long run is a fraction of weekly volume, capped well under the full distance for longer races. training_principles explains those rules on their own. General fitness information, not an individualised coaching plan or medical advice — see a clinician before starting a new training programme. Keyless; computed locally; nothing stored.

Sources: Computed locally from the standard 10%-weekly-increase rule, periodic cutback weeks and race-specific tapering; fully local, zero upstream calls

Trainplan connector: questions and answers

What is the Trainplan connector?

Trainplan generates a real, computed week-by-week running training plan rather than returning a static template. It is a hosted MCP server with 2 tools such as Training plan, Training principles, published by Unify Dynamics LLC. It is independent and not affiliated with Trainplan.

How do I connect Trainplan to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor?

Add the MCP endpoint https://trainplan.connectorbay.com/mcp to your client's MCP, connector or integration settings (streamable HTTP, no OAuth). For REST, POST JSON to https://trainplan.connectorbay.com/v1/tools/<tool>; the OpenAPI description is at /openapi.json. For OpenAI function calling, load https://connectorbay.com/openai/trainplan.json.

Do I need an account or API key for Trainplan?

No. The connector needs no sign-in and no key. An optional Pro key only raises rate limits.

Is Trainplan read-only?

Yes. Every tool reads or computes. Nothing is created, changed, sent, paid or deleted in your account.

Is the Trainplan connector free?

Yes. It is free to use within the published rate limits; an optional Pro key raises them. There is no account to create.

What Trainplan is for

"Give me an actual training plan" — not a static PDF, but a week-by-week schedule computed for your level, your race, and however many weeks you actually have, so the long run, the hard days and the rest days are all sized correctly for where you are in the build.

What it does

training_plan generates a real week-by-week schedule (rest, easy, tempo and long-run days, each with a distance in km) for a 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon, for a beginner or intermediate runner, over the weeks and days-per-week you specify — computed, not looked up from a template. It applies standard, widely published progression rules: weekly volume increases by no more than about 10% from one week to the next (the "10% rule"); every 4th week is a cutback (recovery) week that drops volume back roughly 25% before the climb resumes; the plan tapers over the final 1-3 weeks before race day (longer for longer races), ending in the race itself; and the long run is a fraction of weekly volume, capped well under the full race distance for longer races. training_principles explains those rules on their own, without generating a plan.

What it is not

Not an individualised coach: it does not know your injury history, your current fitness beyond what you tell it, or how your body is responding week to week — adjust or back off if something hurts, and don't be afraid to repeat a week. General fitness information, not medical advice. See a clinician before starting a new training programme, especially with an injury, a medical condition, or after a long break from running.

Trainplan — Privacy Policy

Effective 28 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Trainplan is. Trainplan is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf to generate a computed running training plan. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the settings needed to generate the plan (a fitness level, a race distance, weeks available, days per week, and optionally your current weekly distance).

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — level, race, weeks, days per week, an optional starting weekly distance — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is computed on our server and nothing is stored. The plan is generated by formula from the settings you send; nothing about you or your training is recorded, logged in request bodies, linked to any identity, or used to train anything. No request is forwarded to any third party.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts, or any health or account records. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

Trainplan — Terms of Service

Effective 28 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Trainplan connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Trainplan generates a computed week-by-week running training plan from a fitness level, race goal, and weeks available, using standard published progression rules (the 10% weekly-volume rule, cutback weeks, tapering). It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. General wellness information, not medical advice, not an individualised coaching plan. Trainplan does not know your injury history, medical conditions, or how your body responds week to week. Consult a clinician before starting a new training programme, especially with an injury, a medical condition, or after a long break from exercise, and stop and seek care for pain that doesn't resolve with rest.
  3. Sources. The generator implements commonly published, general-audience training-progression guidance (the 10% rule, periodic cutback weeks, race-specific tapering); it is not a specific coach's or publisher's proprietary plan and is not attributed to any one source.
  4. Acceptable use. Do not use the Service to circumvent rate limits or to present its output as individualised medical or coaching advice. Automated use within the published limits is welcome.
  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is answered on our server and nothing is stored.
  7. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  8. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss, including any injury, arising from use of or reliance on the Service. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  9. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
  10. Contact. Unify Dynamics LLC · agent@connectorbay.com · https://connectorbay.com/trainplan
