Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.

Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; not a certified typing-test product.

TypingCoach computes real typing-speed test metrics and generates practice passages, for teens through adult learners.
score_typing_test compares a typed sample against a target passage and computes gross WPM
(words per minute, using the standard 5-characters-per-word convention), net WPM (after an error
penalty), and accuracy%. The comparison is positional — character i of what you typed against
character i of the target — the same method most real-time typing-test interfaces use.compare_texts gives the underlying character-level and word-level diff (substitutions, extra or
missing characters, mismatched words with their position) without the WPM math, for finer feedback.practice_passage generates a passage by difficulty tier — common words, punctuation-heavy, or
numbers and symbols — optionally stitched together to an approximate target word count.tier_list explains what each difficulty tier contains.typing_tips gives curated improvement tips by category: posture, accuracy, speed, and practice
habits.methodology_explainer spells out the exact formulas used for gross WPM, net WPM and accuracy. This is a typing-speed calculator and practice-passage generator, not a certified typing-test product or a substitute for a typing course — results depend entirely on the text and time you provide it.

What TypingCoach is. TypingCoach is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf to score typing tests and generate practice passages. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the values needed for that one request.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a target passage and the text you typed, the elapsed time, a difficulty tier, or a tip category — plus the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is computed on our server and nothing is stored. WPM and accuracy are computed directly from the target/typed text and elapsed time you send in that one request; practice passages and tips are hand-curated and bundled with the server. No request is forwarded to any third party, and no typed text is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, an account, a login, or any other identifying information, and we do not build a typing-performance profile from queries: each call is answered independently. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — every tool is computed locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
