What US Small Business Hub is for

The single connector a US small business, or an agent host such as a small-business assistant, adds for the United States. It fronts the best tools of 29 deep ConnectorBay connectors (federal tax calendar, estimated tax, 1099 and payee checks, minimum wage, state unemployment wage bases, sales tax economic nexus, Washington address rates, annual report and franchise dates, new-hire reports, federal holidays and Federal Reserve closings, recalls that match the owner's watchlist, paid family and medical leave, payroll deposit penalties, SBA size and 7(a) terms, federal grants, Federal Register and tariff watches, FDIC, CFPB and state registry look-ups) under one endpoint, and adds nine composite tools that answer what an owner really asks: what is due, what changed, am I over the line, what does a first hire trigger, who is this vendor, where can I sell, what funding fits, what does a late deposit cost. Release 0.4.0 leaves out every component whose release review is still open: Form I-9 Section 2 dates, trademark maintenance, resale certificates, state base sales tax rates, California address rates, Colorado city rates, Texas local rate changes, CPSC eFiling dates, FEMA and SBA disaster declarations, workers' compensation lists, the New York Contractor Registry, contractor licence searches, the Texas sales tax permit listing, open tender feeds and IRS mileage rates; each such topic is answered in not_covered as not in this release, never guessed. Answers are compact: every source is listed once in a top-level table and every repeated caveat once; each item keeps its verification level and status. When a component fails, or the profile is outside what the hub can check (a state with no connector), the answer says so in not_checked and not_covered instead of guessing. Read-only: nothing is sent, paid, filed or registered.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Every Monday morning tell me what is due in the next two weeks for my Texas LLC and what changed."
  • "What deadlines do I have in the next 30 days as an S corporation with three employees who pays monthly payroll deposits?"
  • "What changed this week that touches my business, including any CPSC recall that matches the products, brands and suppliers on my list, and what takes effect in the next 60 days?"
  • "I sold 450000 dollars to California and 610000 to New York this year: am I over a sales tax nexus threshold anywhere?"
  • "I am hiring my first employee in Ohio at 18 dollars an hour, 30 hours a week, starting 5 October: what wage, payroll-tax and new-hire report figures and dates apply?"
  • "Check a new vendor before I pay them: EIN layout, bank routing number, whether the bank is FDIC-insured, and whether the business shows up in a state registry."
  • "We ship to Washington and Oregon customers now: what are the economic nexus thresholds, and the sales tax rate for our Washington address?"
  • "Am I a small business for NAICS 541511 with 1.8 million dollars of receipts, and what are the SBA 7(a) terms for a 300000 dollar loan?"
  • "We deposited 5000 dollars of payroll tax 14 days after the 15 September due date: what is the failure-to-deposit penalty, when does the next tier start, and which is the next Federal Reserve business day after a Saturday payment date?"
  • "Does the BOI reporting rule still cover my Delaware LLC, and did my foreign bank accounts reach the FBAR threshold last year?"

Conventions

  • Read-only. Every tool reads public data or computes; nothing is written anywhere and nothing about the user is stored.
  • Result envelope. ok: true with data, or ok: false with a structured error (bad_input, not_found, upstream_error). degraded lists optional sources that were unreachable.
  • Rate limits. Free tier 60 tool calls/minute and 300/day per user (keyed on the user identifier supplied by the host agent, else client IP); Pro keys raise this. Over-limit calls return HTTP 429 with Retry-After. initialize and tools/list are never counted.
