What US Federal Spend Intelligence is for
US Federal Spend Intelligence reads the public USAspending.gov API (U.S. Department of the Treasury) to help a small business size the federal market. autocomplete_recipient and find_recipients turn a company name, UEI or DUNS into the recipient records USAspending keeps, with recipient_id, UEI and total obligations for contracts or grants. recipient_profile gives one business's profile: parent, alternate names, business types, location and obligation totals for the latest window, a fiscal year or all time. autocomplete_naics, autocomplete_psc and autocomplete_awarding_agency turn plain words into NAICS industry codes, product and service codes and awarding agencies. award_detail returns one award: amounts, dates, agencies, recipient, NAICS, product code, competition fields and subaward totals. Amounts are exact decimal strings of federal obligations as agencies report them, not revenue or payments. Business recipients only: profiles that USAspending flags as individuals are refused, and executive compensation fields are never returned. Every answer names its source and retrieval date and notes that USAspending lags agency reporting. It does not rank recipients by NAICS or agency (see BUILD_NOTES).
Ask your assistant things like:
- "How does USAspending spell Lockheed Martin's recipient names, what UEI does it have and how much did it receive in federal contracts?"
- "Give me the federal profile of this competitor: parent company, business types and total obligations."
- "What is the NAICS code for custom computer programming and the product and service code for software?"
- "What is the USAspending agency id for the Department of Veterans Affairs and its sub-agencies?"
- "Show me the details of federal award CONT_AWD_N0001917C0001_9700_-NONE-_-NONE-."

What it is not
US Federal Spend Intelligence is independent; not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by any government body, central bank, standards body or scheme operator. Names of rails, schemes and standards are used only to say what a tool works with. It is read-only: it never sends, pays, files or signs anything for you, and it never looks up private individuals.
Not advice. General information only, not legal, contracting or financial advice. US Federal Spend Intelligence is an independent tool: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by USAspending.gov, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the General Services Administration or any other government body. Figures are federal obligations as agencies report them to USAspending, which lags reporting and can be revised; they are not company revenue or payments received. Check the cited official source before you rely on a result.
