What GitHub Actions Admin (BYOK) is for

GitHub Actions Admin (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own GitHub Actions Admin data through the GitHub Actions Admin API with a key you supply (personal access token (organization owner for most tools)). Read-only: 12 tools (get_org_cache_usage, list_org_cache_usage_by_repository, get_repo_cache_usage, get_cache_retention_limit, get_cache_storage_limit, list_hosted_runners, get_hosted_runner_limits, list_hosted_runner_machine_sizes, list_runner_groups, get_org_actions_permissions, get_allowed_actions, get_workflow_run_timing). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.github.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GitHub Actions Admin. GitHub Actions Admin and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "How much Actions cache is octo-org using?"
  • "Which octo-org repositories use the most Actions cache?"
  • "How much Actions cache does octocat/Hello-World use?"
  • "How long does octo-org keep Actions caches?"
  • "What is the Actions cache size limit per repository in octo-org?"
  • "Which larger runners does octo-org have and are they ready?"

What it does

  • get_org_cache_usage: Get an organization's total active Actions caches: count and size in bytes.
  • list_org_cache_usage_by_repository: List active Actions cache count and size per repository of an organization.
  • get_repo_cache_usage: Get one repository's active Actions cache count and size in bytes.
  • get_cache_retention_limit: Get the maximum number of days Actions caches of an organization are kept.
  • get_cache_storage_limit: Get the maximum Actions cache size per repository (in GB) set for an organization.
  • list_hosted_runners: List an organization's GitHub-hosted larger runners with machine size, image, status, platform and last activity.
  • get_hosted_runner_limits: Get the static public IP address quota of an organization's hosted runners: maximum and current usage.
  • list_hosted_runner_machine_sizes: List the machine sizes (CPU, memory, storage) available for an organization's hosted runners.
  • list_runner_groups: List an organization's self-hosted and hosted runner groups with visibility and workflow restrictions.
  • get_org_actions_permissions: Get which repositories of an organization may run GitHub Actions and which actions are allowed.
  • get_allowed_actions: Get the allow-list of actions for an organization: GitHub-owned, verified creators and name patterns.
  • get_workflow_run_timing: Get how long a workflow run took and its billable time per operating system.

BYOK key

You bring your own GitHub Actions Admin personal access token (organization owner for most tools) (https://github.com/settings/tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.github.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the GitHub Actions Admin API (api.github.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.github.com/en/rest/actions. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GitHub Actions Admin. GitHub Actions Admin and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your GitHub Actions Admin account.
