What New Relic (BYOK) is for

New Relic (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own New Relic data through the New Relic API with a key you supply (New Relic user API key (US data center)). Read-only: 7 tools (get_current_user, list_accounts, search_entities, list_apm_applications, list_browser_applications, list_infrastructure_entities, list_entities_with_alert_severity). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.newrelic.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by New Relic. New Relic and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which New Relic user is my API key connected to?"
  • "Which New Relic accounts are in my organization?"
  • "Find the New Relic entities whose name contains checkout"
  • "Which APM applications do I monitor in New Relic and are any alerting?"
  • "Which browser applications are monitored in New Relic?"
  • "Which infrastructure entities does New Relic monitor for me?"

What it does

  • get_current_user: Show the New Relic user the API key belongs to: id, name and email.
  • list_accounts: List the New Relic accounts of the user's organization with name, id and data center region code (us01 or eu01). Needs a user type that may view the organization's accounts.
  • search_entities: Search monitored entities with a New Relic entity query such as name like 'checkout' or domain = 'INFRA' and alertSeverity is not null. Returns guid, name, type, domain, reporting flag and alert severity.
  • list_apm_applications: List applications monitored by New Relic APM with guid, name, reporting flag and alert severity (200 per page).
  • list_browser_applications: List New Relic browser monitoring applications with guid, name, reporting flag and alert severity (200 per page).
  • list_infrastructure_entities: List entities of New Relic infrastructure monitoring (hosts, cloud integrations) with guid, name, type, reporting flag and alert severity (200 per page).
  • list_entities_with_alert_severity: List entities that have an alert severity (for example CRITICAL, WARNING or NOT_ALERTING) with guid, name, type and domain (200 per page).

BYOK key

You bring your own New Relic New Relic user API key (US data center) (https://one.newrelic.com/api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.newrelic.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the New Relic API (api.newrelic.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/apis/nerdgraph/get-started/introduction-new-relic-nerdgraph/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by New Relic. New Relic and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your New Relic account.
