What Unthread (BYOK) is for

Unthread (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Unthread data through the Unthread API with a key you supply (Unthread service account API key). Read-only: 11 tools (list_conversations, list_conversations_by_status, get_conversation, list_conversation_messages, list_tags, list_ticket_types, list_users, list_accounts, list_user_groups, list_sla_policies, list_knowledge_base_articles). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.unthread.io. What it does

  • list_conversations: List support conversations with status, title, priority, customer, dates and response and resolution times. Paged by cursor.
  • list_conversations_by_status: List support conversations that have one status: open, in_progress, on_hold or closed. Paged by cursor.
  • get_conversation: Get one conversation by its UUID or friendly number: status, title, priority, customer, dates, response and resolution times and summary.
  • list_conversation_messages: List the messages of one conversation with time, text and author reference. Paged by cursor.
  • list_tags: List the tags that can be put on conversations and customers.
  • list_ticket_types: List the ticket types with description and dates.
  • list_users: List the team members synced into Unthread (id and name only).
  • list_accounts: List customer accounts with name, email domains, tags and dates.
  • list_user_groups: List user groups with description and whether they are external.
  • list_sla_policies: List SLA policies with status and project; needs a service account with a non-viewer role and SLAs enabled.
  • list_knowledge_base_articles: List the knowledge base articles with title, URL and status.

BYOK key

You bring your own Unthread Unthread service account API key (https://docs.unthread.io/docs/api-docs/api-reference). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.unthread.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
