What Vacation Tracker (BYOK) is for

Vacation Tracker (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Vacation Tracker data through the Vacation Tracker API with a key you supply (Vacation Tracker v2 API key (starts with vt_live_; create it under Add-ons, Open API with read scopes)). Read-only: 8 tools (list_departments, list_locations, list_location_holidays, list_labels, list_leave_types, list_leaves, list_users, get_user_balances). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.vacationtracker.io. Ask your assistant things like:

  • "What departments does our Vacation Tracker workspace have?"
  • "Which locations does our Vacation Tracker workspace have?"
  • "What holidays does the Los Angeles location have this year?"
  • "Which labels are used in Vacation Tracker?"
  • "What leave types do we offer?"
  • "Who is on leave in November?"

What it does

  • list_departments: List all departments (teams) the key can see, with id, name, default flag and creation time.
  • list_locations: List all locations the key can see, with id, name, time zone, default flag and creation time.
  • list_location_holidays: List the public and company holidays of one location in a year, one entry per day, sorted by date.
  • list_labels: List all labels with id, name, color and how many users carry each.
  • list_leave_types: List the leave types (vacation, sick leave and so on), active and inactive, with color, order and calendar status.
  • list_leaves: List leave requests that overlap a date range: who is away, when, for how long, leave type and status. The reason text people typed is not requested.
  • list_users: List users with name, work email, admin flag, location, department, status, employee id, employment start and end dates and labels.
  • get_user_balances: Get one user's leave balances per leave year and leave type: unit, entitlement, rollover, earned, used, scheduled, pending and remaining.

BYOK key

You bring your own Vacation Tracker Vacation Tracker v2 API key (starts with vt_live_; create it under Add-ons, Open API with read scopes) (https://vacationtracker.io/developers/api-v2/authentication). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.vacationtracker.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
