What Zendesk (BYOK) is for

Zendesk (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Zendesk data through the Zendesk API with a key you supply (agent email address followed by /token, for example you@example.com/token). Read-only: 7 tools (list_tickets, get_ticket, list_ticket_comments, search_zendesk, list_users, get_current_user, list_organizations). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.zendesk.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Zendesk. Zendesk and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Zendesk tickets were updated most recently?"
  • "Show Zendesk ticket 35436"
  • "What was said on Zendesk ticket 35436?"
  • "Find open high priority Zendesk tickets"
  • "Who are the agents in my Zendesk account?"
  • "Which Zendesk user am I logged in as?"

What it does

  • list_tickets: List tickets (archived ones excluded) with subject, status, priority, type, requester, assignee, organization, tags and dates, 100 per page at most; follow meta.after_cursor for more.
  • get_ticket: Get one ticket by id with subject, first comment text, status, priority, requester, assignee, organization, tags and dates.
  • list_ticket_comments: List the comments of one ticket in order, with plain-text body, whether public, author id, time and channel; follow meta.after_cursor for more.
  • search_zendesk: Search tickets, users, organizations or groups with Zendesk search syntax such as 'status:open priority:high'; returns common fields of each hit, 100 per page at most; follow meta.after_cursor for more.
  • list_users: List users (end users, agents and admins) with name, email, role, organization, active and verified flags, last login and time zone; follow meta.after_cursor for more.
  • get_current_user: Show the Zendesk user the credentials belong to: name, email, role, organization, time zone and last login.
  • list_organizations: List organizations with name, domain names, tags, details, notes, default group and dates; follow meta.after_cursor for more.

BYOK key

You bring your own Zendesk agent email address followed by /token, for example you@example.com/token (https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408889192858-Generating-a-new-API-token). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.zendesk.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Zendesk API (*.zendesk.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://developer.zendesk.com/api-reference/ticketing/introduction/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Zendesk. Zendesk and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Zendesk account.
