mechanic_info — Explains one generic named mechanic used across code-breaking and feedback-guessing games — feedback types, scoring rules, setup knobs, strategy techniques, rule variants and formats. Use for "what does minimax mean here", "how does duplicate-color scoring work". Args: name.
game_type_list — Every core game type this reference covers, with its default code length, symbol-pool size, whether repeats are allowed by default, typical player count and difficulty. Use for "what kinds of code-breaking games do you cover".
term_glossary — Definitions of common code-breaking / feedback-guessing terms — peg, code, codemaker, exact/partial match, minimax strategy, entropy, tile, answer list, worst-case guess bound, .... Use for "what's a partial match", "what does entropy mean here". Args: term.
variant_info — Full detail for one of 15+ named variants of these games — size variants, duel and battle-royale formats, party/team formats, accessible and daily-puzzle formats. Use for "what's speed mode", "what's a battle royale version of this". Args: name.
optimal_strategy_tip — Five concrete strategy tips for playing one game type well, covering opening guesses, reading feedback, and elimination technique. Use for "what's the best strategy for guessing", "how do I open a round". Args: game_type.
feedback_system_explainer — Explains exactly how one game type's feedback works after a guess — e.g. black/white (exact/partial) peg counts, or green/yellow/gray letter tiles — including how repeated symbols are scored without double-counting. Use for "how does the feedback work", "what do the colored tiles mean". Args: game_type.
beginner_tips — A curated, ranked shortlist of the most useful tips for someone brand new to this whole family of code-breaking and feedback-guessing games. Use for "I'm new to this, what should I know", "tips for a beginner". Args: count.
combinatorics_note — A REAL combinatorics calculation: exactly how many possible codes exist for a given code length and symbol-pool size, computed both with and without repeated symbols allowed, plus the implied information-theoretic bit count. Use for "how many possible codes are there with 4 slots and 6 colors", "how big is the search space for a 5-letter word". Args: game_type, code_length, colors_or_letters, allow_repeats.
find_game_for_group — Suggests game types and variants suited to a given number of players — from solo word-guessing to large team-relay or battle-royale formats. Use for "what's a good code-breaking game for 6 people", "any version of this for one player". Args: player_count.

What Codepeg is. Codepeg is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated code-breaking & feedback-guessing game reference — mechanics, strategy and real combinatorics. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call, the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Codepeg is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
