About

Dealtactics is a fully local, hand-curated negotiation frameworks and tactics reference. framework_info explains preparation frameworks and strategic approaches — BATNA, WATNA, ZOPA/reservation price, distributive bargaining, integrative bargaining, principled negotiation — with how to use each and an example. tactic_info explains one pressure or psychological tactic (anchoring, mirroring, labeling, silence, good cop/bad cop, highball/lowball, nibbling, take-it-or-leave-it, deadline pressure, bogey, reciprocity/door-in-the-face) with what it looks like and the recommended counter. negotiation_style_guide covers the five Thomas-Kilmann conflict styles and when each fits. recognize_tactic matches a plain-language description of what the other side is doing to known tactics with counters. batna_worksheet ranks your alternatives to identify your BATNA and a suggested reservation price. negotiation_prep_checklist is a step-by-step preparation checklist. tactics_by_category and category_list browse by category, tactic_search does keyword search, and glossary defines terms like ZOPA, anchor, concession, leverage and log-rolling. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing stored.

Sources: Hand-curated from widely published negotiation theory and practice (principled negotiation, distributive/integrative bargaining, the Thomas-Kilmann conflict-mode model); BATNA ranking is computed locally from the caller's own input; fully local, zero upstream calls

What Dealtactics is for

"What is BATNA?", "how do I counter a lowball offer?", "what tactic is this person using on me?" — a fully local, hand-curated reference for the frameworks that make negotiation preparation systematic, and the tactics you should recognize when they're used against you.

What it does

framework_info explains a preparation framework or strategic approach: BATNA (your best alternative if this deal falls through), WATNA (your worst), ZOPA and reservation/aspiration price (the range both sides could accept), distributive bargaining (dividing a fixed pie), integrative bargaining (expanding it through multi-issue trades), and principled negotiation (separating people from the problem, focusing on interests over positions, inventing options for mutual gain, and insisting on objective criteria). tactic_info covers eleven pressure and psychological tactics — anchoring, mirroring, labeling, silence, good cop/bad cop, highball/lowball, nibbling, take-it-or-leave-it, deadline pressure, bogey, and reciprocity/door-in-the-face — each with what it looks like and, critically, the recommended counter for when it's used on you. negotiation_style_guide covers the five Thomas-Kilmann conflict styles (competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding, accommodating) and when each is the right call.

recognize_tactic takes a plain-language description of what the other side is doing and matches it to known tactics with their counters — describe the behavior, not the jargon. batna_worksheet ranks alternatives you give it by estimated value to identify your actual BATNA and a suggested reservation price. negotiation_prep_checklist is a step-by-step preparation checklist. tactics_by_category and category_list browse the full reference by category, tactic_search does a keyword search across everything, and glossary defines terms like ZOPA, anchor, concession, leverage, and log-rolling.

What is computed vs. hand-curated

batna_worksheet's ranking and recognize_tactic's matching are computed from your own input. The framework descriptions, tactic counters, conflict-style guidance, and glossary are hand-curated from widely published negotiation theory and practice — original explanations, not copied from any single book or course.

What it is not

Educational reference material, not legal advice — a contract's actual terms should always be reviewed by an attorney before signing. Naming a tactic doesn't guarantee it's actually being used against you in any specific conversation; treat matches as a prompt to look closer, not a verdict.

What Dealtactics is. Dealtactics is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a fully local, hand-curated negotiation frameworks and tactics reference — covering preparation frameworks, strategic approaches, pressure and psychological tactics with counters, conflict styles, a BATNA-ranking worksheet, and a plain-language tactic recognizer. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the text or values needed for that one response.

What we receive. the arguments of each tool call — a framework, tactic, or style name to look up, a search keyword, a plain-language description of a counterpart's behavior, or a list of your own alternatives to rank, the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is answered locally and nothing is stored. tactic recognition and BATNA ranking are computed from the text and values you send us; framework, tactic, style and glossary content is answered from a bundled hand-curated reference file — there is no upstream call at all; no request is forwarded to any third party, and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts, or account credentials, and we do not build a profile from your queries — each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Because a BATNA worksheet or a described negotiation can involve sensitive business or personal context, we want to be explicit: we do not log, retain, or use anything you send us for negotiation prep beyond producing that one response.

Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — every tool is computed or answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Dealtactics is a general-audience negotiation-education reference operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

Dealtactics — Terms of Service

Effective 25 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Dealtactics connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Dealtactics returns named negotiation frameworks, tactics with counters, conflict-style guidance, keyword search, a BATNA-ranking worksheet computed from your input, and a glossary. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. Not professional advice. Dealtactics provides general information, templates and reference material — it is not legal, financial, tax, HR, or other professional advice, and using it does not create any professional relationship. Verify anything consequential against authoritative sources or a qualified professional before relying on it.
  3. Not legal advice. This is educational reference material about negotiation theory and practice, not legal advice — have a contract's actual terms reviewed by an attorney before signing anything.
  4. Tactic matches are suggestions, not verdicts. recognize_tactic is a keyword heuristic to prompt you to look closer, not a determination that a specific tactic is actually being used against you in any real conversation.
  5. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome.
  6. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  7. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your input is answered on our server and nothing is stored.
  8. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  9. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on the Service. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  10. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
