genre_info — Full detail for one competitive esports genre: a generic description, typical team size, match structure, key skills, common tournament formats, and a few real published titles that exemplify it. Use for "what is a MOBA", "how do battle royale tournaments work". Args: name.
tournament_format_info — Full detail for one tournament format: how it works, pros/cons, ideal participant range, seeding notes and real-world usage. Use for "how does double elimination work", "what's the GSL group format". Args: name.
category_list — An overview of everything this reference covers: every genre with its role count, every tournament format, and the glossary/history/beginner-tip counts. Use for "what genres of esports do you cover", "what's in this reference".
role_info — Explains one team role or playstyle archetype within a genre, e.g. jungler in MOBA, in-game leader (IGL) in FPS, zoner in fighting games. Fighting games and RTS are primarily individual (1v1), so most of their entries are playstyle archetypes rather than formal team roles — role_info notes this where it applies. Use for "what does a jungler do", "what's an IGL", "what's a zoner in fighting games". Args: genre, role.
term_glossary — Definitions of common esports terminology — frag, gank, meta, patch, scrim, LAN, tilt, seed, bracket, best-of, draft/pick-ban, org, franchising, third-partying, and more. Use for "what does 'gank' mean", "what's the difference between an org and a roster". Args: term.
history_milestone — Looks up esports history milestones by era or topic keyword — origins in the 1970s-80s, South Korea's StarCraft boom, early leagues (CPL, WCG), MOBA-era franchised leagues, crowdfunded prize pools, the Overwatch League, the Fortnite World Cup, streaming platforms, Olympic recognition, collegiate esports, and mobile esports growth. Historical claims are verified where possible and phrased qualitatively where genuinely uncertain. Use for "when did esports become popular in Korea", "how did The International's prize pool get so big", "has esports been in the Olympics". Args: era_or_topic.
find_format_for_event_size — Recommends which tournament format(s) best fit a given number of participants, with brief reasoning, plus every format's raw fit against its own ideal participant range. Use for "what tournament format should I use for a 24-team event", "best bracket format for 6 players". Args: participant_count.
beginner_tips — A ranked shortlist of practical tips for someone getting into competitive/esports play, from most to least essential. Use for "how do I get better at competitive gaming", "tips for a beginner esports player". Args: count.

What Esport is. Esport is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated esports reference — genres, tournament formats, team roles, terms and history. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call, the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Esport is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
