Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
term_lookupsearch_termsglossary_by_categoryrpe_referencerpe_to_rirrir_to_rpecommon_misconceptionsFitnessglossary is a fully local gym/fitness terminology reference for anyone new to a gym or training program. term_lookup defines any single term with its category; search_terms does keyword search; glossary_by_category browses strength_training, cardio, or gym_culture. Strength-training terms include progressive overload, hypertrophy, one-rep max, supersets, drop sets, tempo, time under tension, compound vs. isolation exercises, periodization and deload weeks. Cardio terms include Zone 2, VO2max, LISS, HIIT, lactate threshold, EPOC and Tabata. Gym-culture terms include DOMS, mind-muscle connection, bro split, bulking/cutting, macros, pump and PR. rpe_reference gives the full 1-10 RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion) scale with each level's real, documented meaning and its RIR (Reps in Reserve) correspondence; rpe_to_rir and rir_to_rpe convert between the two using the standard coaching formula RIR = 10 - RPE. common_misconceptions corrects frequent mix-ups like treating RPE and RIR as unrelated scales or assuming soreness is required for progress. Keyless; computed locally; nothing stored; general fitness terminology reference, not medical or coaching advice.
Sources: Computed locally / hand-curated (standard strength & conditioning and exercise-science terminology; RPE/RIR numeric scale and correspondence popularized by Mike Tuchscherer's RPE scale, standard across strength-sports coaching); fully local, zero upstream calls

Running cadence/stride/pace math, the '180 spm' figure explained with real caveats, and form cues
RAMP-protocol warm-ups for running, lifting, basketball and swimming — real movements, not generic stretches
Equipment recommendations that actually fit your space and budget, plus a workout-style equipment map
Distance from steps, steps-to-calories and pace/cadence math from documented formulas
Protein targets, pre/post-workout fueling, and hydration timing
The vocabulary a gym newcomer runs into on day one — what a coach means by "RPE 8", what "Zone 2" is, what a "deload week" is for, why everyone jokes about never skipping leg day — explained accurately, not vaguely.
A hand-curated glossary of 45+ terms across three categories. Strength training: progressive overload,
hypertrophy, one-rep max (1RM), supersets, drop sets, tempo, time under tension, compound vs. isolation
exercises, periodization, deload weeks, and a real numeric RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion) and RIR (Reps in
Reserve) exertion scale — not just named, but explained with their actual 1-10 / 0-10 numeric meaning and how
they convert into each other. Cardio: Zone 2, VO2max, LISS, HIIT, lactate threshold, EPOC (the "afterburn"
effect), Tabata, Fartlek. General gym culture: DOMS, mind-muscle connection, bro split, bulking/cutting, macros,
pump, PR/PB, spotter. term_lookup defines any single term; search_terms does keyword search;
glossary_by_category browses one category. rpe_reference gives the full numeric RPE scale with each level's
real meaning; rpe_to_rir and rir_to_rpe convert between the two scales using the standard coaching
correspondence (RIR = 10 − RPE). common_misconceptions corrects frequent mix-ups, like treating RPE and RIR as
unrelated, or assuming soreness is required for a workout to have worked.
Not personalized coaching or a program: it defines and explains terms, it does not assess your own training or tell you what to change. The RPE/RIR correspondence (RIR = 10 − RPE) is a standard coaching convention, not an exact physiological law — actual reps-in-reserve at a given perceived exertion vary by exercise, rep range and individual. General fitness terminology reference, not medical advice.

What Fitnessglossary is. Fitnessglossary is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for gym/fitness terminology: term lookups, keyword search, category browsing, and an RPE/RIR exertion-scale reference and converter. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the search words or numeric values needed to answer.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call (a term or search phrase, a category name, an RPE or RIR value), the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is computed on our server and nothing is stored. The glossary is a bundled reference file; lookups are simple text matching and the RPE/RIR conversion is a formula. No request is forwarded to any third party. What you send is used for that one answer and is not recorded, logged in request bodies or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts, medical records or any account credentials. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Fitnessglossary is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
