About

Handrank is a fully local, hand-curated, cross-game card hand-ranking reference. games_list gives every supported game with a one-line summary. ranking_for_game gives one game's full ordered hand-ranking or scoring-category list, best to worst, with definitions and examples. hand_value takes a plain description of a hand and runs real parsing and classification logic for that game: a poker hand category with kicker tie-break info, a gin-rummy or rummy meld/deadwood analysis, a full cribbage point breakdown, a blackjack total with soft/hard and bust/natural status, or a bridge high-card-point evaluation. compare_hands takes two hand descriptions and says which wins and why. term_glossary defines cross-game and game-specific terms. probability_note gives a rarity description for a named hand. card_point_value looks up a card rank's value in a game's own counting system. find_game_by_mechanic finds games matching a stated mechanic. Rules and definitions only -- never betting advice, odds-optimization, or bankroll strategy. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing stored.

What Handrank is for

"What beats a full house?", "what's this cribbage hand worth?", "is my gin rummy hand ready to knock?", "is this a strong bridge hand?", "what's a Yarborough?" -- a cross-game card hand-ranking reference that actually parses a plain-language hand description and runs real classification or scoring logic, instead of just listing rules.

What it does

games_list gives every supported game with a one-line summary. ranking_for_game gives one game's full ordered hand-ranking or scoring-category list, best to worst, with definitions and examples, spanning six games: poker (5-card hand ranking), gin rummy, 13-card/points rummy, cribbage, blackjack, and contract bridge hand evaluation (high card points). hand_value takes a plain description of a hand -- "three sevens and a pair of kings", "AS KS QS JS 10S", "ace and king", or a 13-card bridge hand listed by suit -- and runs real parsing and classification logic for that game: a poker hand category with kicker tie-break info, a gin-rummy or rummy meld/deadwood analysis, a full cribbage point breakdown (fifteens, pairs, runs, flush, nobs), a blackjack total with soft/hard and bust/natural status, or a bridge high-card-point evaluation with shape and balance. compare_hands takes two hand descriptions for the same game and says which wins and why, using the same evaluation logic. term_glossary defines cross-game and game-specific terms. probability_note gives a qualitative (and, for a few well-established facts, quantitative) rarity description for a named hand. card_point_value looks up how a specific card rank is valued in a given game's own counting system. find_game_by_mechanic finds games matching a stated mechanic like "matching sets" or "high card points".

What it is not

A rules and definitions reference only. It never gives betting advice, odds-optimization guidance, or bankroll strategy for any wagering game -- poker and blackjack content covers hand rankings and values only, never when to bet, raise, hit, or stand. hand_value's natural-language parsing covers common phrasings and formats; unusual wording may not be recognized, and it will say so rather than guess.

Tools

Look Up Rankings

games_list — Every card game this reference covers, with its id, aliases and a one-line summary of its hand-ranking or hand-evaluation system. Use for "what games do you cover", "list the games".

ranking_for_game — The full ordered hand-ranking or scoring-category list for one game, best to worst, each with a definition and an example. Use for "what beats what in poker", "what are the cribbage scoring categories", "what's the bridge point-count scale". Args: game.

find_game_by_mechanic — Finds every covered game whose hand-ranking mechanic matches a stated description, keyword-matched against each game's tagged mechanics, summary and goal. Use for "which games use high card points", "what games are about matching sets", "which game counts combinations that sum to 15". Args: mechanic.

Evaluate a Hand

hand_value — Given a plain description of a hand, identifies what it's called and/or worth in that game's own system, using real parsing and classification logic (poker hand category with tiebreak info, gin-rummy/rummy meld and deadwood analysis, a full cribbage point breakdown, a blackjack total with soft/hard and bust/natural status, or a bridge high-card-point evaluation) -- not a lookup of exact input strings. Use for "what is three sevens and a pair of kings called", "score this cribbage hand", "is this gin rummy hand ready to knock", "what's this blackjack hand worth", "how strong is this bridge hand". Args: game, description.

compare_hands — Compares two hands for the same game and says which one wins (or ties) and why, using the same evaluation logic as hand_value. Use for "which of these two poker hands wins", "which of these two bridge hands is stronger", "which blackjack hand wins". Args: game, hand_a, hand_b.

Reference

term_glossary — Definitions of cross-game and game-specific card terms -- kicker, wheel, deadwood, meld, gin, undercut, pure sequence, joker/wildcard, fifteen, his nobs, natural, soft/hard hand, bust, push, high card points, balanced hand, void/singleton/doubleton, Yarborough, and more. Use for "what's a kicker", "what does deadwood mean", "what's his nobs", "what's a Yarborough". Args: term.

probability_note — A qualitative (and, where well-established, quantitative) rarity description for a named hand or scoring category in a given game. Use for "how rare is a royal flush", "how often does gin happen", "how likely is a 29 hand in cribbage". Args: game, hand_name.

card_point_value — Looks up how a specific card rank is valued in a given game's own counting system: poker's ordinal comparison order (2 low through ace high), cribbage/rummy/gin-rummy pip values for building fifteens or deadwood, blackjack's flexible ace, or bridge's Milton Work high-card-point scale. Use for "what's an ace worth in cribbage", "how many high card points is a queen", "what does a jack count as in blackjack". Args: game, rank.

Conventions

  • Read-only. Every tool reads public data or computes; nothing is written anywhere and nothing about the user is stored.
  • Result envelope. ok: true with data, or ok: false with a structured error (bad_input, not_found, upstream_error). degraded lists optional sources that were unreachable.
  • Rate limits. Free tier 60 tool calls/minute and 300/day per user (keyed on the user identifier supplied by the host agent, else client IP); Pro keys raise this. Over-limit calls return HTTP 429 with Retry-After. initialize and tools/list are never counted.

Handrank — Privacy Policy

Effective 25 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Handrank is. Handrank is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated, fully local, cross-game card hand-ranking reference -- hand rankings, a hand-value classifier and scorer, hand comparison, a glossary, rarity notes, and card-point-value tables across poker, gin rummy, rummy, cribbage, blackjack and bridge. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call -- a game name, a hand description (the cards or ranks you typed), a term to look up, or a card rank -- the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and computed locally, and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party -- there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise -- and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None -- the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Handrank is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

Handrank — Terms of Service

Effective 25 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Handrank connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Handrank returns a hand-curated, fully local, cross-game card hand-ranking reference -- ordered hand rankings, a hand-value classifier and scorer, hand-to-hand comparison, a glossary, rarity notes, and card-point-value tables, across poker, gin rummy, 13-card rummy, cribbage, blackjack and contract bridge hand evaluation. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. Rules and definitions only -- not betting advice. Handrank never gives betting advice, odds-optimization guidance, bankroll strategy, or any recommendation about how much or when to wager. Poker and blackjack content is limited to hand rankings, values, and comparisons. If real-money play stops being fun or affordable, most regions have a free gambling-help resource (in the US, 1-800-GAMBLER).
  3. Reference, not a rulebook substitute. Content reflects general, widely known card-game hand-ranking and scoring conventions as of the build date stated in the Service's own data. House rules, regional variants, and specific partnership agreements (in bridge) vary; verify against the exact rules in play before relying on this reference for a real game or wager.
  4. Best-effort parsing. hand_value and compare_hands interpret plain-language and notated hand descriptions using documented, heuristic parsing logic. Unusual phrasing may not be recognized; the Service returns a clear error rather than guessing when it cannot confidently parse a hand.
  5. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome.
  6. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  7. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is answered from a bundled reference file and computed locally, and nothing is stored.
  8. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  9. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, the Service -- including any wagering decision made using its content. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  10. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
