Adult-appropriate reading practice passages by level, with a self-verifying readability checker
Unify Dynamics LLC
Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
list_levelslist_passagesget_passageverify_reading_levelcomprehension_questionsLiteracyadult is a fully local adult-literacy practice-passage generator. list_levels lists the three reading bands (beginning, intermediate, advanced) and three topic areas (workplace, civic, everyday_life). list_passages browses the bank by level and/or topic. get_passage returns one full passage, by id or a random level/topic match, with a live reading-level self-check confirming it matches its claimed level. verify_reading_level runs that same check on any text. comprehension_questions returns true/false, fill-in-the-blank, and short-answer questions for a passage. Every passage covers a genuinely adult topic, never childish subject matter, regardless of reading difficulty. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing stored.
Sources: Computed locally / hand-curated — practice passages and comprehension questions hand-written for adult-appropriate topics; readability formula computed locally and self-verified against every bundled passage; fully local, zero upstream calls

"Give me a beginning-level reading passage about voting", "check what reading level this paragraph is at", "quiz me on this passage" — a fully local adult-literacy practice-passage generator, built specifically for adult learners rather than adapted from a kids' curriculum.
Every passage — even at the simplest "beginning" reading level — covers a genuinely adult topic: applying for a job, voting at a local library, keeping a grocery budget, workplace safety training, a city council meeting, household budgeting, employment rights, how a local ordinance becomes law, and reading a residential lease. Reading difficulty and subject-matter maturity are treated as independent — a passage simple enough for an early reader still respects that the reader is an adult managing an adult life, never childish subject matter dressed down to a "beginning" label.
list_levels lists the three reading bands — beginning, intermediate, advanced, each with an approximate
grade-level equivalent — and the three topic areas (workplace, civic, everyday life). list_passages browses
the bank by level and/or topic without returning full text. get_passage returns one full passage, either by
id or a random one matching a level/topic filter, together with a live-computed reading-level check confirming
it actually measures at its claimed level. verify_reading_level runs that same Flesch-Kincaid-style check on
any text at all, not just the bundled passages. comprehension_questions returns the hand-authored true/false,
fill-in-the-blank, and short-answer questions for a specific passage.
Every bundled passage's claimed level was checked against the same formula verify_reading_level exposes,
both at authoring time and live on every get_passage call (measured_grade and measured_matches_claim in
the response) — so the tool can catch its own passages being mis-labeled, rather than trusting a static claim.
Every passage, its topic, and its comprehension questions are hand-written for this connector. The Flesch-Kincaid-style readability formula and the level-band matching are computed live from whatever text is given, including the bundled passages themselves.
This is a practice and self-check tool, not a certified adult-literacy or ESL curriculum, and not a substitute for a qualified adult-education instructor or program. The level bands here are adapted from the grade-level convention long used in adult basic education, simplified for this tool — not a reproduction of any single official standard.

What Literacyadult is. Literacyadult is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for adult-literacy practice passages, a readability checker, and comprehension questions. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the values needed for that one response.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a reading level, a topic, a passage id, or a piece of text to check for reading level — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered locally and nothing is stored. Bundled practice passages and comprehension questions are read from a hand-written reference file; the readability check is computed directly from whatever text you send in that one request. No request is forwarded to any third party, and no text you submit for a reading-level check is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, your reading ability, or any other identifying information, and we do not build a learning profile from your queries — each call is answered independently.
Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — every tool is answered or computed locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Adult learners. Literacyadult is designed for adult literacy practice and does not request or store any learner's name, enrollment status, or reading-ability history.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
