About

Paws puts dog and cat reference behind one connector. Breed profiles for 45 dog breeds (popular breeds, Indian natives and mixed/rescue) and 20 cat breeds: size, weight, lifespan, temperament, energy, grooming, shedding, trainability, kid and apartment scores, origin and health watch-points; a breed finder by lifestyle; random breed photos. A toxic-item check across foods, plants, human medicines, household products and hazards, plus safe treats, with severity, reason and what to do. Human-equivalent age by species and dog size. Core vaccination schedules for puppies, kittens and adults. Pet food by name or barcode from Open Pet Food Facts. Dog and cat facts. Keyless; nothing stored; information, not veterinary advice.

What Paws is for

The everyday questions of dog and cat owners, answered from reference tables rather than guesswork: what a breed is really like to live with, which breed fits a home, whether the thing the dog just ate is dangerous, how old a pet is in human terms, what vaccinations are due, what is in a bag of pet food, and a fact to share.

What it does

Breed profiles for 45 dog breeds (popular Western breeds plus Indian natives — Indie, Rajapalayam, Mudhol Hound — and mixed/rescue) and 20 cat breeds (including the Indian Billi): size, weight, height, lifespan, temperament, energy, grooming, shedding, trainability, good-with-kids and apartment scores, origin and the health problems to watch. A breed finder by size, energy, grooming, shedding, children, apartment living and trainability. Random breed photos (dog.ceo, TheCatAPI). A toxic-item check across 44 entries — foods, plants, human medicines (paracetamol, ibuprofen, NSAIDs), household products (antifreeze, rodenticides, permethrin, essential oils), hazards (string, corn cobs) and safe treats — with severity, why, species and what to do. Human-equivalent age (AVMA-style, by dog size; feline stages). Core vaccination schedules for puppies, kittens and adults. Pet food by name or barcode from Open Pet Food Facts. Dog and cat facts.

What it is not

Not a vet: severity ratings tell you when to call one, not what to do instead. Breed profiles describe typical tendencies — individuals vary, and rescues of any mix deserve the same consideration. Open Pet Food Facts is a community database and many products are incomplete.

Tools

Breeds

breed — A breed profile: size, weight and height, lifespan, temperament, energy/grooming/shedding/trainability scores (1–5), good-with-kids and apartment ratings, origin and the health problems to watch for. Use for "tell me about Beagles", "how big do Maine Coons get", "are Huskies good in apartments". Args: name, species.

breed_finder — Suggest breeds for a lifestyle: filter by size, energy, grooming and shedding; rank for children, apartment living and trainability. Use for "low-shedding small dog for an apartment", "calm cat for a family", "which breed suits a runner". Args: species, size, energy_max, grooming_max, shedding_max, kids, apartment, trainable, max_results.

breed_photo — Random photo(s) of a dog breed (dog.ceo) or cat breed (TheCatAPI). Use for "show me a Husky", "what does a Bengal cat look like". Args: name, count.

Care

toxic_check — Is it dangerous for a dog or cat? Severity (severe/high/moderate/low/safe), why, and which species — for 44 foods, plants, medicines and household items including safe treats. Use for "can dogs eat grapes", "is lily toxic to cats", "my dog ate ibuprofen", "safe fruits for dogs". Args: item, species.

Food & fun

pet_food — Look up pet food on Open Pet Food Facts by name or barcode: brand, category, quantity, ingredients, labels and nutrition per 100 g. Use for "what's in Royal Canin kitten food", "scan this barcode". Args: query, barcode, max_results.

pet_fact — A random dog or cat fact. Use for "tell me a cat fact". Args: species.

Conventions

  • Read-only. Every tool reads public data or computes; nothing is written anywhere and nothing about the user is stored.
  • Result envelope. ok: true with data, or ok: false with a structured error (bad_input, not_found, upstream_error). degraded lists optional sources that were unreachable.
  • Rate limits. Free tier 60 tool calls/minute and 300/day per user (keyed on the user identifier supplied by the host agent, else client IP); Pro keys raise this. Over-limit calls return HTTP 429 with Retry-After. initialize and tools/list are never counted.

Privacy policy

Paws — Privacy Policy

Effective 23 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Paws is. Paws is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for dog and cat information: breed profiles and finder, breed photos, toxic-item checks, human-equivalent age, vaccination schedules, pet food lookup and facts. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the breed, item, species, age, search words or barcode needed for the lookup.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call (a breed name, an item name, a species and age, lifestyle filters, product words or a barcode), the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Lookups are answered from bundled tables or forwarded, not stored. Breed, toxic, age and vaccination answers come from tables on our server. Photo, fact and pet-food requests are passed to the sources below. We do not record your pet's details or build a profile. Nothing you send is stored, logged in request bodies or used to train anything. Successful upstream answers are cached in memory for up to a day, keyed by the query.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts, veterinary records or any account credentials. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. dog.ceo and TheCatAPI (breed photos), catfact.ninja and dogapi.dog (facts), Open Pet Food Facts (product lookup). Each receives the query and our server's IP address, never yours. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Paws is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

Paws — Terms of Service

Effective 23 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Paws connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Paws returns dog and cat information — breed profiles and matching, photos, toxic-item checks, age conversion, vaccination schedules, pet food data and facts — from bundled reference tables and public sources. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. Sources and licences. Breed, toxic-item, age and vaccination tables are editorial content of Unify Dynamics LLC compiled from published veterinary and breed-club guidance; photos from dog.ceo (Stanford Dogs dataset) and TheCatAPI under their terms; facts from catfact.ninja and dogapi.dog; pet food data from Open Pet Food Facts under the Open Database License (ODbL).
  3. Not veterinary advice. Severity ratings and schedules are general guidance; contact a veterinarian or animal poison control for any suspected poisoning, illness or vaccination decision. Breed descriptions are typical tendencies, not guarantees.
  4. Acceptable use. Do not use the Service to bulk-scrape the sources or to circumvent rate limits. Automated use within the published limits is welcome.
  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is answered or forwarded and nothing is stored.
  7. Attribution. dog.ceo; TheCatAPI; catfact.ninja; dogapi.dog; Open Pet Food Facts.
  8. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  9. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on the Service. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  10. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
