General etiquette guidance, not a rule anyone must follow; customs vary by family, culture and region.
Sources: Fully hand-curated, general etiquette guidance reflecting common Western/US gift-registry practice, not scraped from any specific real etiquette guide or website. Local computation only; zero upstream calls.

"How many registries should I have?", "should I give cash or buy off the registry?", "is it rude to register for expensive things?", "when should thank-you notes go out?" — a hand-curated gift-registry etiquette guide for both sides of the exchange: the person setting up a registry, and the guest giving a gift.
host_etiquette and guest_etiquette give occasion-specific guidance — how many stores to register at and how
wide a price spread to include, whether a gift is obligatory, how group gifting typically works — for weddings,
baby showers, housewarmings, graduations and retirements. registry_item_guidance suggests general categories of
items (never specific brands or products) at a modest, mid, or high budget tier for an occasion.
multiple_registries_tips covers combining a few different stores' registries without it feeling excessive to
guests. cash_fund_etiquette explains how honeymoon, cash or diaper funds are typically framed and received for
an occasion. thank_you_note_generator drafts an original, warm thank-you note, personalized with the gift
description and giver's name if you provide them. timing_guide gives occasion-specific suggested windows for
sharing a registry before the event and sending thank-you notes after it, and computes them into actual calendar
dates if you supply an event date. registry_etiquette_faq answers the questions that come up again and again —
is a registry required, are expensive items rude, do you need to give a gift if you can't attend, what a no-gift
request looks like. glossary defines registry, group gift, cash fund, registry aggregator, no-gift request and
thank-you window.
Not a rule anyone must follow, and not a claim that etiquette is uniform — customs genuinely vary by family, culture, region and generation. Every piece of guidance here reflects common, general Western/US practice as a reasonable default; when your own family or community does things differently, that's the etiquette that matters more. Clear, kind communication always beats any "rule" listed here.

What Registrykit is. Registrykit is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated gift-registry etiquette guide — host and guest etiquette, item guidance, cash-fund framing, a thank-you note generator, timing guidance, an etiquette FAQ and a glossary. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — an occasion, a budget tier, an event date, a gift description or giver's name for the note generator, or a glossary term — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from bundled, hand-curated reference data and nothing is stored. No request is
forwarded to any third party, including any retailer or registry platform — there is no upstream call at all —
and no query, gift description, or name is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything. A gift
description or giver's name you supply to thank_you_note_generator is used only to fill in that one response's
text; it is not saved or reused afterward.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your actual guest list, or your relationship to any specific gift-giver beyond what you type into one request, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Registrykit is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
