What Remotekit is for

"What do I need for a budget home office", "how do I set up my monitor ergonomically", "what should I buy first" — a remote-work setup and equipment reference organized by budget tier, work pattern, and what actually matters most first.

What it does

checklist_by_budget gives the full equipment and ergonomic checklist for one of four tiers — bare minimum, budget, mid-range, premium — across desk, chair, monitor, keyboard & mouse, lighting, audio, connectivity, and cable management, each item paired with a plain-language reason for why it matters at that tier. tier_list lists all four with their approximate price bands, and compare_tiers lines several up side by side. ergonomic_setup_guide covers monitor height, posture, keyboard/mouse position, and break frequency, independent of what you've bought. connectivity_checklist covers internet and router setup and troubleshooting. home_office_layout_tips covers choosing and arranging the room itself — light direction, noise, background. essentials_by_role gives equipment priorities tailored to a work pattern: video-call- heavy, focus-heavy, creative, or hybrid/traveling. common_mistakes lists frequent setup mistakes with fixes. call_readiness_checklist is a quick pre-call check. upgrade_priority_order gives a budget-agnostic order to address equipment gaps in — the cheapest, highest-impact fixes first, regardless of which tier you're starting from.

About the price bands

Every price band in this connector is an approximate, generic range (e.g. "$150-400 total"), never a specific branded product or a live market price. Real prices vary by region, retailer, and time — treat these as rough planning bands to budget against, not a shopping comparison.

What it is not

General planning and ergonomic guidance, not medical advice. If you have persistent pain or an existing condition, a qualified ergonomic assessment or medical professional is the right next step, not a general checklist like this one.
