Splint answers those questions from one hand-curated, source-verified first-aid reference.
Splint is general first-aid EDUCATION only. It is not medical advice, not a diagnostic tool, and not a substitute for professional medical care or certified first-aid/CPR training. For any serious or life-threatening situation, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately — every response that touches a genuinely urgent situation says so, as the very first thing, before any other content.
emergency_first_steps covers what to do right away for choking, severe bleeding, chest pain, anaphylaxis,
unresponsiveness, seizure, heat stroke, or suspected poisoning — every response leads with calling emergency
services before anything else. wound_care_basics_guide covers MINOR cut and scrape care only (clean hands,
control bleeding, rinse and clean, ointment, bandage) and explicitly redirects to emergency care for anything
deep, embedded, or heavily bleeding. choking_response_overview and cpr_overview are general educational
overviews — of the back-blows/abdominal-thrusts (Heimlich) concept and of hands-only CPR's compression rate and
depth — each one explicit that this is not a substitute for a certified hands-on course and that 911 comes
first. burn_care_guide explains the first/second/third-degree distinction and basic care for minor burns
only, with a clear list of when a burn needs emergency care. sprain_strain_guide covers the RICE method
(Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation). allergic_reaction_guide covers anaphylaxis warning signs and response —
always leading with call 911, and never naming a specific medication or dose (it describes only the general
concept of a person's own prescribed epinephrine auto-injector being used per its own instructions).
heat_illness_guide distinguishes heat exhaustion from heat stroke, a medical emergency. first_aid_kit_checklist
gives a general Red-Cross-style kit contents list.
Every first-aid fact in Splint's dataset — wound care steps, the choking-response technique, CPR compression rate and depth, burn-degree classification, the RICE method, anaphylaxis warning signs, and the heat-exhaustion/heat-stroke distinction — was checked against publicly published guidance from the American Red Cross, Mayo Clinic, the American Heart Association, and MedlinePlus (U.S. National Library of Medicine) before being written into Splint's reference data.
Splint is not a diagnostic tool — it never tells you what condition you or anyone else has; it describes general, widely published warning signs so you know when to escalate to professional help, and only a medical professional can actually diagnose a condition. Splint is not a treatment-decision tool and not medical advice — it does not replace a clinician's judgment about a specific person's care, and it never recommends a specific medication or dosage of anything, including epinephrine. Splint is not a substitute for certified first-aid or CPR training — reading an overview of a technique is not the same as practicing it hands-on under an instructor, and every relevant tool says so explicitly. And Splint is never a substitute for calling emergency services — for anything genuinely serious (choking, severe bleeding, chest pain, a severe allergic reaction, unresponsiveness, a prolonged or unusual seizure, heat stroke, poisoning), call 911 (or your local emergency number) first, before reading anything further here.
emergency_first_steps — What to do right away for a serious first-aid situation. Every response leads with calling emergency services immediately, before any other content, followed by general first-aid-education steps verified against Red Cross/Mayo Clinic sources. This is education only — it never diagnoses and is never a substitute for calling 911 or for professional medical care. Use for "someone is choking", "severe bleeding won't stop", "possible heart attack", "signs of a severe allergic reaction", "person is unresponsive", "having a seizure", "heat stroke symptoms", "swallowed something toxic". Args: situation.
wound_care_basics_guide — General first-aid steps for MINOR cuts and scrapes only: clean hands, control bleeding, rinse and clean the wound, apply ointment, bandage, and watch for infection — with an explicit list of when to seek professional or emergency care instead (deep wounds, heavy bleeding, embedded objects, bites, signs of infection). Use for "how do I clean a scrape", "minor cut first aid".
burn_care_guide — The first/second/third-degree burn distinction (skin layers affected, appearance) and basic first-aid care for MINOR burns only, plus an explicit list of when a burn needs emergency/professional care (third-degree, large, on sensitive areas, chemical/electrical, with smoke inhalation, etc.). Use for "is this a first or second degree burn", "how do I treat a minor burn". Args: degree.
choking_response_overview — A general educational overview of the choking-response (Heimlich maneuver / back blows and abdominal thrusts) concept as commonly taught by the Red Cross. This is educational only — not a substitute for certified hands-on first-aid training — and it says to call 911 immediately if the person can't breathe, can't cough, or is losing consciousness. Use for "what's the Heimlich maneuver", "someone is choking what do I do".
cpr_overview — A general educational overview of hands-only adult CPR concepts (compression rate and depth) verified against American Heart Association guidance. This is not a substitute for certified CPR training, and it says to call 911 first, before starting compressions. Use for "how do I do CPR", "CPR compression rate and depth".
sprain_strain_guide — The RICE method (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) for a suspected sprain or strain, verified against Mayo Clinic guidance, plus signs that mean it needs professional evaluation instead (unstable/numb joint, pain over a bone, no improvement in 2-3 days). Use for "how do I treat a sprained ankle", "what is RICE".
allergic_reaction_guide — Anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction) awareness: warning signs and general response. Always says to call 911 immediately as the first step; never names a specific medication or dose — it only describes the general concept of a person's own prescribed epinephrine auto-injector (e.g. an EpiPen) being used per its own instructions. This does not diagnose. Use for "signs of anaphylaxis", "severe allergic reaction what to do".
heat_illness_guide — The distinction between heat exhaustion (symptoms, general first aid) and heat stroke (a medical emergency — call 911 immediately), verified against Mayo Clinic guidance, plus how heat exhaustion can progress into heat stroke. Use for "heat exhaustion vs heat stroke", "signs of heat stroke".
first_aid_kit_checklist — A general Red-Cross-style basic first-aid kit contents checklist, grouped by category (wound care, tools, emergency & CPR, personal & household-specific). A general starting point, not a personalized medical recommendation. Use for "what should be in a first aid kit".

What Splint is. Splint is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for basic first-aid reference and education: emergency first steps, minor wound care, a choking-response overview, a CPR overview, burn care, sprain/strain guidance, allergic-reaction awareness, a heat-illness distinction, and a first-aid-kit checklist. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — for example, a described situation like "choking" or a burn degree — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from a bundled reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything. In particular, we do not receive or retain any description you or your assistant give of an actual medical situation beyond the single request needed to answer it, and Splint does not build any health profile.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, your health information, or your medical history, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and every response is computed locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct, or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Splint is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant. Splint is not a substitute for a parent, guardian, or caregiver's judgment or for professional medical care for a child in an emergency — call emergency services immediately for any child in a serious situation.
Not medical record-keeping. Splint does not store, and is not designed to store, any health information about you or anyone else. If you need to keep a medical record, use a system designed for that purpose.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
Effective 24 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Splint connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").
