Even and itemized bill splits, proportional tax/tip, and minimum-transaction settle-up — all local
Unify Dynamics LLC
Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
even_spliteven_splititemized_splitsimplify_balancessplitbill_glossarySplitbill puts group-expense arithmetic behind one connector, computed locally from the numbers you supply. Even split: a bill subtotal plus optional tax/tip divided equally among any number of people, with exact-cent rounding so shares always sum to the grand total; pass the name of whoever already paid to see what each other person owes them directly. Itemized split: assign each item on a receipt to the specific people who shared it, compute each person's own subtotal, and allocate tax and tip in proportion to that subtotal rather than splitting them evenly. Settle up: given a group's net balances, simplify_balances runs the standard greedy debt-simplification algorithm — repeatedly matching the biggest creditor against the biggest debtor — to find the minimum-transaction way to zero everyone out, instead of every pair settling separately, and reports whether it reached the mathematical floor for that group. A glossary covers even split, itemized split, settle up, net balance, and the largest-remainder rounding method. General arithmetic, not financial or legal advice.
Sources: No external sources — every tool is arithmetic computed locally from the numbers the caller supplies; nothing fetched, nothing stored
The publisher, Unify Dynamics LLC, states that tool inputs are processed in memory and not retained.

"Split $120 four ways with 20% tip", "Alice had the steak, Bob and Carol split an appetizer — what does everyone owe", "I paid the whole bill, who owes me what", "what's the simplest way for four people to settle up" — the group-money questions people ask an assistant after dinner, a trip, or a shared purchase. Splitbill answers them with real arithmetic — no upstream calls, no accounts, nothing stored.
Even split. Divides a bill subtotal (plus optional tax/tip percentages) equally among a list of people,
rounded to the cent with the largest-remainder method so the shares always sum exactly to the grand total. Pass
paid_by to get a direct "who owes the payer what" breakdown when one person already covered the whole bill.
Itemized split. Assigns each line item to the specific people who shared it — a person can be on some items
and not others — computes each person's own subtotal, then allocates tax and tip in proportion to each person's
share of the subtotal (not evenly), so someone who ordered more pays more of the tax and tip. Same exact-cent
rounding and optional paid_by support.
Settle up. Given a group's net balances (who's owed money, who owes money), simplify_balances collapses
them into the minimum-transaction settlement plan using the standard greedy debt-simplification algorithm —
repeatedly matching the person owed the most against the person who owes the most — instead of everyone settling
every pairwise debt separately. It reports the transactions, the theoretical minimum transaction count for the
group, and whether the plan reached it.
Glossary. Plain-language definitions of even split, itemized split, settle up, net balance, the largest-remainder method, and proportional tax/tip allocation.
Not financial or legal advice, and not a payments product — Splitbill computes who owes what; it does not move money, track payments over time, handle multiple currencies, or remember a group between requests. The settlement optimizer uses a well-established greedy heuristic; minimizing the transaction count exactly for every possible set of balances is an NP-hard partition problem, so in rare constructed cases a smaller plan could exist, though the greedy method reaches the mathematical floor in the overwhelming majority of real groups.

What Splitbill is. Splitbill is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for group expense-splitting calculations: even splits, itemized splits, and a debt- simplification settlement optimizer. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the numbers needed for that one calculation.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — bill amounts, item descriptions and prices, first names or nicknames used to label people in a split, tax/tip percentages, and net balances — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is computed on our server and nothing is stored. Every calculation is plain arithmetic over the numbers you provide in that single request — there are no upstream data sources or bundled rate tables to look anything up in. No request is forwarded to any third party, and no query — including any name, amount, or balance you enter — is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, real identities beyond whatever labels you choose to send (e.g. "Alice"), payment credentials, or any account information, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each calculation is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — every tool is computed locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Splitbill is a general-audience service for adults; we knowingly collect no personal data from anyone.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

simplify_balances uses a standard greedy algorithm
that reaches the minimum possible number of transactions in the overwhelming majority of cases, but minimizing
the count exactly for every possible input is a known NP-hard problem; a smaller plan could theoretically exist
