About

Swotgrid is a fully local SWOT analysis template builder. build_grid structures your strengths/weaknesses/opportunities/threats lists into a grid with counts, flagging any empty quadrant. generate_strategies pairs items across quadrants into SO (strengths/opportunities), WO (weaknesses/opportunities), ST (strengths/threats), and WT (weaknesses/threats) strategic implication statements. prioritize_items ranks items by impact x likelihood. swot_to_action_plan turns strategy statements into a trackable table with owner/timeframe/status placeholders. quadrant_definitions explains one quadrant (internal/external, helpful/harmful) with examples, and swot_guide gives the fuller framing plus the most common mistake (confusing internal and external factors). question_prompts gives brainstorming questions per quadrant. strategy_type_guide explains the SO/WO/ST/WT types (maxi-maxi, mini-maxi, maxi-mini, mini-mini) with worked examples. common_pitfalls lists frequent SWOT mistakes beyond internal/external confusion. industry_prompt_bank gives tailored prompts for a product business, a service business, a nonprofit, or a personal/career SWOT. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing stored.

Sources: Hand-curated from widely taught strategic-planning practice (the classic SWOT/TOWS framework); grid structuring, strategy pairing, prioritization and the action plan are computed locally from the caller's own input; fully local, zero upstream calls

  • Build gridStructures your four lists into a SWOT grid with counts, flagging any empty quadrant as likely under-brainstormed.
  • Generate strategiesPairs your quadrant items into SO/WO/ST/WT strategic implication statements (capped to the first 3 items per quadrant to keep it manageable).
  • Prioritize itemsRanks a list of SWOT items by impact × likelihood, descending — useful for deciding which strengths to lean on first or which threats to address…

What Swotgrid is for

"Help me build a SWOT grid from these notes", "what strategies come out of my strengths and opportunities", "am I filling out my SWOT correctly" — a fully local tool that turns a SWOT from a static four-box list into real strategic implications, and a reference for doing the analysis itself well.

What it does

build_grid structures your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats into a grid with counts, flagging any quadrant with nothing in it — usually a sign it wasn't brainstormed thoroughly rather than genuinely empty. generate_strategies is the part most SWOT exercises skip: it pairs items across quadrants into SO (strengths/opportunities — "use this strength to capture this opportunity"), WO (weaknesses/opportunities — "fix this weakness so we can pursue this opportunity"), ST (strengths/threats — "use this strength to defend against this threat"), and WT (weaknesses/threats — defensive, minimize-exposure statements). prioritize_items ranks a list by impact × likelihood so you know which threat or opportunity actually deserves attention first. swot_to_action_plan turns strategy statements into a trackable table with owner/timeframe/status placeholders for you to fill in.

quadrant_definitions explains one quadrant — internal vs. external, helpful vs. harmful — with examples. swot_guide gives the fuller picture: that same framing plus the single most common SWOT mistake, confusing an internal factor for an external one (or vice versa), with the fix. question_prompts gives brainstorming questions to help fill each quadrant. strategy_type_guide explains the SO/WO/ST/WT types by their classic nicknames (maxi-maxi, mini-maxi, maxi-mini, mini-mini) with a generic worked example each. common_pitfalls covers the mistakes beyond internal/external confusion — doing it alone, no follow-through, never revisiting it. industry_prompt_bank gives brainstorming prompts tailored to a product-based business, a service business, a nonprofit, or a personal/career SWOT.

What is computed vs. hand-curated

Grid structuring, strategy pairing, prioritization, and the action-plan table are all computed directly from your own input — the strategy statements are template-generated from your own strengths/weaknesses/opportunities/ threats, not invented. The quadrant definitions, common confusions, question prompts, strategy-type explanations, pitfalls, and industry prompts are hand-curated from widely taught strategic-planning practice (the classic SWOT/TOWS framework).

What it is not

A structuring and brainstorming aid, not a guarantee of any business outcome. It's only as good as the honesty and specificity of what goes into each quadrant — a vague or wishful-thinking SWOT produces vague, useless strategic implications no matter how well the grid is organized.

What Swotgrid is. Swotgrid is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a fully local SWOT analysis template builder — structuring your strengths/weaknesses/opportunities/threats into a grid, generating SO/WO/ST/WT strategic implications, prioritizing items, and hand-curated SWOT reference. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the text or values needed for that one response.

What we receive. the arguments of each tool call — your own strengths/weaknesses/opportunities/threats lists, items to prioritize, strategy statements to turn into an action plan, or a quadrant/strategy-type name to look up, the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is answered locally and nothing is stored. The grid, strategy pairing, prioritization, and action-plan table are all assembled directly from the lists and values you send us; quadrant, strategy-type, and prompt content is answered from a bundled hand-curated reference file — there is no upstream call at all; no request is forwarded to any third party, and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts, or account credentials, and we do not build a profile from your queries — each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Because a SWOT often reflects real, sometimes confidential internal business assessment, we want to be explicit: we do not log, retain, or use anything you send us for these tools beyond producing that one response.

Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — every tool is computed or answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Swotgrid is a general-audience strategic-planning template tool operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
