Twelve classical Islamic-finance concepts — mudarabah, murabaha, musharakah, sukuk, riba, takaful, ijara,
wakala, qard hasan, gharar, istisna, wadiah — each described factually as terminology used in the field of
Islamic finance, never as a religious ruling (islamic_finance_concept_info); a keyword search across every
dataset in the connector (concept_search); Gulf/MENA business-etiquette guidance across eight topics —
greetings, meetings, hospitality, business cards, scheduling, dress, gift-giving, communication style
(business_etiquette_guide); a neutral, non-judgmental explanation of the wasta (personal-connections)
concept that notes perspectives on it vary rather than taking a side (wasta_concept_info); general
education on common Gulf company-structure categories — free zone, mainland LLC-equivalent, branch, sole
establishment, holding company, offshore company — with a clear disclaimer to consult a local advisor or
lawyer (business_structure_overview); a fourteen-term glossary spanning souk-economy terms (souk, khan,
qafila, dallal, hawala, tajir, hisbah) and modern business terms (trade license, free zone, chamber of
commerce, distributor vs. agent, letter of credit, Incoterms) (trade_glossary); a factual historical note on
the region's role in the incense route, Red Sea/Gulf maritime trade, Silk Road connections, trans-Saharan
trade and pilgrimage-linked trade (historical_trade_routes_info); historical/cultural notes on traditional
units of weight and distance — dirham, dinar, mithqal, rotl, qintar, qirat (the origin of "carat"), farsakh
(currency_and_units_reference); and a description of relationship-first versus transaction-first
negotiation styles as a neutral spectrum, with the pattern commonly associated with Gulf/MENA business
(negotiation_norms_guide).
Not financial advice, not legal advice, and not religious advice. Tijara describes Islamic-finance terms as
field terminology and never issues a ruling on what is or is not religiously permissible — that is a question
for a qualified religious scholar or Islamic-finance professional familiar with your own situation. It does
not moralize about wasta or rank negotiation styles as better or worse; it describes patterns and notes that
perspectives vary. business_structure_overview is general education, not company-registration, tax or legal
advice — consult a local business advisor or lawyer before acting on it. currency_and_units_reference covers
historical and traditional units only; it is never a source for live exchange rates or current pricing. And
Tijara is a reference on concepts and culture, not a source of legal, regulatory or scholarly rulings for any
individual case.

business_etiquette_guide — Gulf/MENA business-etiquette tips by topic -- greetings, meeting customs, hospitality, business cards, time and scheduling, dress, gift-giving, communication style -- described factually and generally, not as universal rules. Use for "how do business meetings work in the Gulf", "what should I know about gift giving in Gulf business". Args: topic.
wasta_concept_info — A neutral definition of wasta -- the use of personal or social connections to facilitate an outcome -- including how it functions and a note that perspectives on it vary widely and are actively debated in the region, without taking a position on whether any particular use of it is good or bad. Use for "what is wasta", "explain the concept of wasta in Arab business culture".
negotiation_norms_guide — Cultural notes on relationship-first versus transaction-first negotiation styles, described as a neutral spectrum most business cultures mix rather than a ranking of which is better, plus the pattern commonly associated with Gulf/MENA business. business_structure_overview — General education on common Gulf business-structure categories -- free zone company, mainland LLC-equivalent, branch/representative office, sole establishment, holding company, offshore company -- with an explicit disclaimer to consult a local business advisor or lawyer for any specific situation. trade_glossary — A glossary of souk-economy terms (souk, khan/caravanserai, qafila, dallal, hawala, tajir, hisbah) and modern business terms (trade license, free zone, chamber of commerce, distributor vs. agent, letter of credit, Incoterms). Use for "what does souk mean", "what's a dallal", "what is hawala". Args: term.
historical_trade_routes_info — A factual historical note on the region's role in historical trade: the incense route, Red Sea and Gulf maritime trade, Silk Road connections, trans-Saharan trade, and pilgrimage-linked trade. Use for "what was the incense route", "how was Arabia connected to the Silk Road", "trans-Saharan trade history".
currency_and_units_reference — Historical and cultural notes on traditional units of weight and distance once used in regional trade -- dirham, dinar, mithqal, rotl, qintar, qirat (the origin of "carat"), farsakh. Historical/cultural only -- never live exchange rates or current pricing. Use for "what was a rotl", "where does the word carat come from", "traditional Arab units of weight".

What Tijara is. Tijara (Trade) is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated reference on traditional Arab/Islamic-world commerce concepts and modern Gulf/MENA business culture. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a search term, an Islamic-finance concept name, a glossary term, an etiquette topic — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Not advice. Tijara is a factual, descriptive reference and does not provide financial, legal, tax or religious advice, and nothing about your use of it is used to build a profile or offer you personalized advice.
Children. Tijara is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
Effective 24 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Tijara (Trade) connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").
