letter_valuescoring_systemsword_score_calculatorfind_high_value_lettersboard_bonus_explainergame_style_comparisonstrategy_tipbeginner_tipsterm_glossaryTileword is a fully local, hand-curated reference for tile-based word games in general — not any one publisher's official rulebook. scoring_systems lists three named systems: classic (the long-standing, widely-published convention), balanced (an original rebalanced variant), and simple (a coarse teaching scheme). letter_value looks up one letter's point value and tile count under a named system; find_high_value_letters ranks the priciest letters. word_score_calculator does real scoring math for a word: base letter values, optional double/triple letter multipliers by position, optional blank-tile positions (which score zero), then optional double/triple word multipliers applied on top. board_bonus_explainer covers how bonus squares generically work and which play styles use them. game_style_comparison lines up two of four generic play styles side by side — crossword_tile, speed_tile, grid_search, digital_duel — each factually noted as similar to a real, well-known game, including how each checks word validity. strategy_tip and beginner_tips give practical advice, and term_glossary defines shared tile-game vocabulary. scoring_systems — Lists every named letter-point/tile-count system this reference defines (classic, balanced, simple), each with its description, design rationale, blank-tile count and total tile count. Use for "what scoring systems do you have", "how many tiles are in a full set".
letter_value — One letter's point value and tile count under a named scoring system. Use scoring_systems to see valid system names. Use for "how many points is a Q worth", "how many E tiles are in the balanced system". Args: letter, system.
find_high_value_letters — The highest-value letters in a named system, ranked by point value (ties broken alphabetically), each with its tile count. Use for "what are the highest-value letters", "top 3 letters in the classic system". Args: system, count.
word_score_calculator — Real scoring math (not a lookup table): sums each letter's base point value under the named system (0 for any blank-tile position), applies any double/triple LETTER multipliers you specify by position, sums to a subtotal, then applies any double/triple WORD multipliers on top of that subtotal (multiplicatively if more than one). Use for "score the word QUIZ", "what's ZA worth on a double letter and a triple word square", "score EXIT with the X on a blank tile". Args: word, system, letter_multipliers, word_multipliers, blank_positions.
board_bonus_explainer — Explains, generically, how double/triple letter/word bonus squares work: what each type multiplies, the common corners-and-diagonals layout convention, the rule that a multiplier only fires the turn a tile is first placed, how multiple word bonuses stack, and which play styles use a bonus-square board at all. Use for "how do double word squares work", "does Bananagrams have bonus squares". Args: game_style.
game_style_comparison — Side-by-side comparison of two tile-word play styles: whether each uses a placement board, whether it's turn-based, its typical pace, how it checks whether a played word is valid, and how it scores. Recognized styles: crossword_tile (similar to Scrabble), speed_tile (similar to Bananagrams), grid_search (similar to Boggle), digital_duel (similar to Words With Friends). Use for "how is Bananagrams different from Scrabble", "does Boggle use letter points like Scrabble does". Args: a, b.
strategy_tip — Strategy tips for one tile-word play style, optionally narrowed to a topic. Use for "give me a Scrabble opening tip", "how should I manage my rack", "endgame advice for Boggle". Args: game_style, topic.
beginner_tips — A curated shortlist of general beginner advice that applies across most tile-word play styles. Use for "what should a beginner learn first", "basic tips for word tile games". Args: count.
term_glossary — Definitions of common tile-word-game terms — rack, bag/pool, blank tile, bingo/bonus play, hook, phony, challenge, premium square, leave, playability, and more. Use for "what's a bingo in a word tile game", "what does hook mean", "what's the difference between a phony and a challenge". Args: term.

What Tileword is. Tileword is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated tile-word-game reference — letter values, real score math, board bonuses & strategy. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call, the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Tileword is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
