What Vastu is for

The question that comes up when someone is designing, buying or renting a home in India — which direction should the kitchen face, is a northeast toilet actually a problem, what's the "right" color for a south-facing room — answered from one hand-curated, respectfully-written reference to Vastu Shastra, the traditional Indian system of architecture and space planning, instead of a scroll through conflicting listicle sites.

What it does

The ideal direction(s) for 18 common room and zone types — kitchen, master bedroom, pooja/prayer room, toilet, study, main entrance, staircase, children's and guest bedrooms, dining and living rooms, storage, garage, water tanks, septic tank, staff room and boundary wall — each with the traditional rationale and commonly-used alternatives (room_placement); the significance of each of the eight main compass directions plus the center (Brahmasthan) — ruling element, traditional guardian deity, and what's favorably placed there (direction_guide); guidance for a main door or plot facing a given direction, plus a high-level note on the traditional 32-entrance (pada) system (entrance_analysis); traditional remedies for roughly 20 commonly discussed doshas (layout imbalances) like a toilet in the northeast or a missing corner (vastu_dosha_remedies); the five-element (Pancha Bhoota) framework — earth, water, fire, air, space — and which directions and rooms each governs (element_balance); guidance for common plot and building shapes (plot_shape_guide); traditionally suggested colors by room or by direction (color_guide); a glossary of core terms — Brahmasthan, Vastu Purusha Mandala, dosha, pada, Pancha Bhoota, Dikpala and more (vastu_glossary); and a quick pre-purchase or pre-construction checklist for an apartment, an independent house, or an office (checklist).

What it is not

Vastu is a reference to a traditional cultural and architectural belief system, not a scientific or structural-engineering claim. It is written in our own words, drawn from widely-published, generic Vastu Shastra tradition rather than any single named book, teacher or living guru, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them. Nothing here should be read as a load-bearing engineering judgment, a building-code requirement, or a substitute for a licensed architect, structural engineer, or a Vastu consultant working from your actual site plan and compass reading. Modern plots, apartment layouts and building codes very often make the traditionally "ideal" placement impractical — that's completely normal, which is exactly why every tool here also surfaces commonly-used alternatives and remedies rather than a single rigid answer.

Placement

room_placement — The traditional ideal direction(s) for a room or zone, the rationale behind it, common alternatives, and directions to avoid where the tradition specifies them. Use for "which direction should my kitchen face", "where should the pooja room go". Args: room.

direction_guide — A direction's traditional Vastu significance: its ruling element, its guardian deity (Dikpala) in the generic tradition, and what's traditionally favorable to place there. Use for "what does the northeast represent in Vastu", "what governs the southwest corner". Args: direction.

entrance_analysis — Guidance for a main door or plot that faces a given direction — how favorable the tradition considers it, which portion of the wall is generally preferred, and a high-level note on the traditional 32-entrance (pada) system. Use for "is a south-facing house bad Vastu", "which part of the east wall should the door be on". Args: facing_direction.

Fixes

vastu_dosha_remedies — Common traditional remedies for a stated Vastu dosha (layout imbalance) — searches roughly 20 commonly discussed issues and their traditional remedy suggestions. Use for "how do I fix a toilet in the northeast", "remedy for a missing corner". Args: issue.

Framework

element_balance — The Pancha Bhoota (five-element) framework: which directions and rooms one element traditionally governs, its associated qualities, and a short balancing tip. Use for "what does the fire element govern in Vastu", "which rooms belong to the water element". Args: element.

plot_shape_guide — Traditional guidance for a plot or building shape — whether it's considered auspicious as-is or generally needs a remedy, and why. Use for "is an L-shaped plot bad Vastu", "is a triangular plot okay". Args: shape.

Conventions

• Read-only. Every tool reads public data or computes; nothing is written anywhere and nothing about the user is stored.
• Result envelope. ok: true with data, or ok: false with a structured error (bad_input, not_found, upstream_error). degraded lists optional sources that were unreachable.
• Rate limits. Free tier 60 tool calls/minute and 300/day per user (keyed on the user identifier supplied by the host agent, else client IP); Pro keys raise this. Over-limit calls return HTTP 429 with Retry-After. initialize and tools/list are never counted.

Vastu — Privacy Policy

Effective 24 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Vastu is. Vastu is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a fully local Vastu Shastra home/office design reference: ideal room directions, direction-by- direction significance, entrance guidance, dosha remedies, the five-element framework, plot-shape guidance, color suggestions, a glossary and pre-purchase checklists. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a room type, a direction, a dosha description, an element, a plot shape, or a property type — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Vastu is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Vastu — Terms of Service

Effective 24 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Vastu connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

1. The Service. Vastu returns a fully local Vastu Shastra home/office design reference — ideal room directions, direction-by-direction significance, entrance guidance, dosha remedies, the five-element framework, plot-shape guidance, color suggestions, a glossary, and pre-purchase/pre-construction checklists — hand-curated in our own words from widely-published, generic Vastu Shastra tradition. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
2. A cultural and traditional reference, not a scientific or engineering claim. Vastu Shastra is a traditional Indian belief system. The Service presents it as a reference to that tradition — it is not a scientific finding, not a structural-engineering or safety standard, and not affiliated with or endorsed by any named author, teacher, guru, or religious institution. It is not a substitute for a licensed architect, structural engineer, or a Vastu consultant working from your actual site plan, and nothing in the Service should be relied on as a building-code or safety determination.
3. Practical limits are normal. Modern plots, apartments and building codes very often make a traditionally "ideal" placement impractical; the Service surfaces commonly-used alternatives and remedies for exactly that reason, and using them is a personal and cultural choice, not a requirement.
4. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome.
5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is answered from a bundled reference file, and nothing is stored.
7. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
8. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on the Service, including any decision about a property's design, purchase or construction. Our total liability is limited to US $100.

When you report a problem, include the question you asked your agent, roughly when, and which agent you used (for example Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini). Never send us passwords, account numbers or ID numbers. Vastu never asks for them.
