What Solarwinds Service Desk (BYOK) is for
Solarwinds Service Desk (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Solarwinds Service Desk data through the Solarwinds Service Desk API with a key you supply (SolarWinds Service Desk API token (US region)). Read-only: 11 tools (list_incidents, get_incident, list_problems, list_changes, list_hardware_assets, list_users, list_groups, list_solutions, list_sites, list_departments, list_categories). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.samanage.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Solarwinds Service Desk. Solarwinds Service Desk and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Which service desk incidents were updated in the last 7 days?"
- "Show the details of service desk incident 1"
- "What open problems are there in the service desk?"
- "Which changes are planned in the service desk?"
- "Which computers are in the asset inventory?"
- "Who are the users in the service desk?"
What it does
list_incidents: List service desk incidents with number, state, priority, category, assignee, requester and dates. Newest records are on the first page; filter by update time.get_incident: Get one incident by its numeric id, including description, assignee, requester, site, department and resolution fields.list_problems: List problem records with state, priority, root cause and assignee.list_changes: List change requests with state, priority, planned start and end, and assignee.list_hardware_assets: List computer and device assets with status, IP address, operating system, owner and asset tag. Optional filters use the asset's own fields.list_users: List users (agents and requesters) with name, title, email and creation date; phone numbers are left out.list_groups: List groups (teams) with name and description.list_solutions: List knowledge base solutions with number, title and creation date.list_sites: List sites (locations) with name, time zone and language.list_departments: List departments with name and description.list_categories: List incident categories with their parent id.
BYOK key
You bring your own Solarwinds Service Desk SolarWinds Service Desk API token (US region) (https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/swsd/content/completeguidetoswsd/token-authentication-for-api-integration.htm). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.samanage.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
