Desi Life — Connector documentation
Endpoint: https://desi-life.connectorbay.com/mcp · Transport: MCP Streamable HTTP (spec 2025-06-18+) · Auth: none required (optional Pro API key as Authorization: Bearer <key>) · Health: https://desi-life.connectorbay.com/health
Desi Life gives your AI agent everyday Indian context: live cricket, the Hindu calendar (panchang, festivals, muhurat), Indian-language translation via Bhashini, nutrition for Indian dishes, and Indian units. All tools are read-only. It never sends messages, makes payments, or changes anything in your accounts.
Availability
Desi Life is published by Unify Dynamics LLC for the personal AI agents connector directory. It is a standard hosted MCP server, so it also works with any MCP-capable agent at https://desi-life.connectorbay.com/mcp, and every tool is available as a REST API described by an OpenAPI 3.1 spec at https://desi-life.connectorbay.com/openapi.json (POST /v1/tools/{tool_name} with the tool's arguments as JSON).

Units
indian_units_convert — "2.5 crore to million", "10 tola to grams", "1 bigha to sqft", "1500 sqft to gaj". Handles lakh/crore/arab, tola/masha/ratti/seer/maund, bigha/katha/guntha/cent/ground/gaj/kanal/marla, kos/hath, and Indian-style number grouping (12,34,567).
Conventions and accuracy
- Tithi, nakshatra and yoga are those prevailing at local sunrise (standard civil-panchang rule). Festival dates apply the customary rule for each festival (midday for Ram Navami and Ganesh Chaturthi, afternoon for Vijayadashami, evening for Dhanteras and Diwali, midnight for Janmashtami and Shivaratri). Regional almanacs may differ by one day; when it matters, the agent should say which convention it used.
- Lunar months are amanta (Maharashtra/Gujarat/South); purnimanta names are also returned.
- Sidereal positions use the Lahiri ayanamsa. Sunrise/sunset are for the Sun's upper limb with standard refraction.
- Muhurat output is guidance, not a lagna calculation. For marriage and other samskaras, confirm with a family priest.
- Nutrition values are derived from the Indian Food Composition Tables (IFCT 2017, ICMR-NIN) and standard recipe yields; treat them as ±20%.
Access, limits, data
No account is needed. Free tier: 60 tool calls per minute and 300 per day per client. Pro keys raise this to 300/min and 5,000/day — contact agent@connectorbay.com. We do not store prompts, results, or identifiers beyond a 24-hour rolling rate-limit counter. Translation and transliteration text is sent to Bhashini (MeitY, Government of India) for processing; cricket queries go to CricketData.org. See the privacy policy and terms.
Errors
Every response has ok. On failure: error.code is one of provider_unavailable (feature not configured — tell the user it's temporarily unavailable), upstream_error (retryable unless retryable: false), bad_input, not_found, and for rate limits an HTTP 429 with Retry-After: 60.
