Franchisecompare is a fully local, brand-neutral franchise cost-structure comparison toolkit. franchise_cost_comparison takes 2+ options (name, franchise_fee, royalty_pct, marketing_fund_pct, estimated_annual_revenue) and a number of years, and computes ongoing fees as a percentage of revenue over that period, ranked lowest fee-burden first, with the full dollar breakdown. breakeven_timeline takes startup_costs and a projected steady-state monthly_profit and returns months/years to break even plus a milestone table of cumulative profit recovered at 6/12/24/36/60 months (or custom milestones). fdd_red_flags_checklist is a hand-curated checklist of what to look for in a Franchise Disclosure Document: franchisee turnover/closures (Item 20), litigation and bankruptcy history (Items 3-4), an unusually wide initial-investment range and missing Item 19 data, and other structural issues (supplier kickbacks, weak territory protection, one-sided renewal terms) — each with where to find it, why it matters, and a question to ask. franchise_glossary defines common FDD/franchise terms. What Franchisecompare is for

Franchise shopping mostly happens in whispers and glossy sales decks. Franchisecompare is a brand-neutral calculator and reference: it never names or evaluates real franchise brands, and it never asks who you're considering. You bring the numbers — from your own research, a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), or a hypothetical scenario — and it does the arithmetic and gives you the due-diligence checklist.

What it does

franchise_cost_comparison takes two or more options (each with a franchise fee, royalty %, marketing-fund %, and your estimated annual revenue) and a number of years, and computes a total-cost-of-ownership-style comparison: ongoing fees as a percentage of revenue over that period, ranked lowest fee-burden first, plus the full dollar breakdown for each option. breakeven_timeline takes total startup costs and a projected steady-state monthly profit and estimates months and years to break even, with a milestone table (default 6/12/24/36/60 months) showing cumulative profit and percent of startup cost recovered at each point. fdd_red_flags_checklist is a hand-curated checklist of what to look for when reading an actual FDD — franchisee turnover and outlet closures (Item 20), litigation and bankruptcy history (Items 3-4), an unusually wide initial-investment range and the absence of Item 19 financial performance data, and other structural issues like supplier kickbacks, weak territory protection, and one-sided renewal/termination terms — each entry names where to find it, why it matters, and a specific question to ask. franchise_glossary defines the FDD/franchise terms that come up throughout (Item 19, Item 20, encroachment, territory, and more).

What it is not

Not a brand database and not investment advice. Franchisecompare has no data on, and never references, any real, named franchise brand — every figure it computes comes from numbers you supply. The cost comparison ranks purely by fee burden as a percentage of revenue; it says nothing about gross margin, unit economics, brand strength, territory quality, or support quality, all of which matter as much or more. The break-even estimate is a straight-line projection assuming steady profit from month one, which most real businesses don't hit immediately. None of this is legal, financial, or investment advice — always read the actual FDD and consult a franchise attorney/CPA before committing any money.

Franchisecompare — Privacy Policy

Effective 28 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Franchisecompare is. Franchisecompare is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for brand-neutral franchise cost-structure math and reference: a total-cost-of-ownership comparison across options you supply, a break-even timeline estimate, an FDD red-flags checklist, and a franchise-term glossary. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one tool call.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — which may include franchise-fee, royalty, marketing- fund, and revenue figures for options you're comparing, startup-cost and profit figures, or a glossary term — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

We do not store, log, or retain the figures you submit. Every tool computes on the numbers you send in memory, for that one request, and returns a result — nothing about the content of a comparison, a break-even scenario, or which franchise options you're evaluating is written to a database, written to a request log, cached, or used to train anything. Request bodies are not logged. We have no data on, and this connector never references, any real, named franchise brand.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps, never the request content) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — there is no upstream call at all; every tool either computes on your submitted numbers locally or reads from a reference table bundled with the server. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived, content-free logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Franchisecompare is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Franchisecompare — Terms of Service

Effective 28 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Franchisecompare connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Franchisecompare provides brand-neutral franchise cost-structure comparison math and reference: a total-cost-of-ownership comparison across caller-supplied hypothetical or self-researched franchise options, a break-even timeline estimator, an FDD (Franchise Disclosure Document) red-flags checklist, and a franchise-term glossary, computed or looked up entirely on our server. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. Educational reference, not legal, financial, or investment advice. Franchisecompare's calculations and checklists are drafting and due-diligence aids based on the numbers and documents you provide. They are not legal, financial, or investment advice, not a substitute for reading the actual FDD, and not a guarantee of any business outcome, including profitability or break-even timing.
  3. Brand-neutral by design. The Service does not maintain, reference, or compare data about any real, named franchise brand. Every figure it returns is computed from numbers you supply; you are responsible for the accuracy of those numbers.
  4. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome.
  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: figures you submit are computed on our server for that one request and never stored or logged.
  7. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  8. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on the Service, including any investment, financing, or business decision made using it. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
