About

Lexicon is the word toolkit an assistant should call instead of relying on memory. Define: IPA, audio, meanings by part of speech with examples, synonyms and antonyms — English from the Free Dictionary API with Wiktionary as fallback, other languages via Wiktionary. Pronunciation: IPA, ARPAbet, syllables, audio. Thesaurus: fifteen relations from Datamuse — synonyms, antonyms, related, broader and narrower terms, parts and wholes, adjectives for a noun, words that follow or precede, sound-alikes and homophones — each with parts of speech, frequency and a gloss. Rhymes: perfect and near, with syllable counts and filtering. Word finder: crossword patterns, Wordle constraints (must-contain and excluded letters), prefix/suffix/length, or words by meaning. Anagrams and Scrabble scores from a rack with blanks. Spelling check with corrections and a corrected passage. Etymology from Wiktionary rendered as readable text. A term's name in 100–300 languages from Wikipedia's language links. Readability statistics — Flesch, Flesch–Kincaid, Gunning Fog, ARI, Coleman–Liau, reading time, top words — computed locally. A curated word of the day. The puzzle and statistics tools use a bundled public-domain word list and work offline; nothing is stored.

Sources: Free Dictionary API, Wiktionary and Wikipedia (Wikimedia, CC BY-SA), Datamuse, ENABLE word list (public domain); readability computed locally
