About

Saddle is a hand-curated, fully local general equestrian and horsemanship reference. breed_info gives one horse breed's origin, characteristics and typical use across all disciplines — Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, Clydesdale, Friesian, Appaloosa, Mustang, Percheron, Warmblood, Shetland Pony, Standardbred, Morgan, Andalusian, Icelandic Horse, Tennessee Walking Horse, Paint Horse, Belgian Draft, Haflinger, Welsh Pony, Lipizzaner, Paso Fino, Missouri Fox Trotter and Akhal-Teke — and for the Arabian specifically defers to the dedicated ansab connector rather than duplicating its depth; breed_search finds one by partial name, alias or description. discipline_info explains one riding discipline — Western riding and its reining/cutting/barrel-racing sub-events, dressage, show jumping, eventing, hunter/equitation, trail riding, driving, and endurance riding. tack_guide covers English vs. Western saddles, bridles, bit types, halters, girths/cinches, stirrups and general fit concepts. horse_terminology_guide explains age/sex terms (foal, weanling, yearling, colt, filly, gelding, mare, stallion, broodmare). care_basics_guide gives general, non-veterinary-diagnostic feeding, hoof-care and grooming basics with a consult-a-professional note. color_and_markings_guide covers coat colors and face/leg marking terms. gait_guide covers the four natural gaits plus notable breed-specific gaits (the Tennessee Walking Horse's running walk, the Icelandic Horse's tölt). equestrian_glossary defines general terms like hand, withers, conformation and farrier. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls.

What Saddle is for

The everyday equestrian reference question that doesn't need a breed registry's full stud book or a veterinarian's diagnosis — what breed is that, what's the difference between English and Western riding, what's a snaffle bit, what's a yearling versus a colt, how do you feed a horse, what color is that horse, what are the four gaits — answered from one hand-curated, general-audience reference spanning horse breeds, riding disciplines, tack, terminology, care basics, colors and markings, and gaits.

What it does

One horse breed's origin, characteristics and typical use, spanning breeds across every discipline — Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, Clydesdale, Friesian, Appaloosa, Mustang, Percheron, Warmblood, Shetland Pony, Standardbred, Morgan, Andalusian, Icelandic Horse, Tennessee Walking Horse, Paint Horse, Belgian Draft, Haflinger, Welsh Pony, Lipizzaner, Paso Fino, Missouri Fox Trotter, and Akhal-Teke (breed_info); search by partial name, alias or description text (breed_search); one riding discipline explained — Western riding and its reining/cutting/barrel-racing sub-events, dressage, show jumping, eventing, hunter/equitation, trail riding, driving, and endurance riding (discipline_info); tack and equipment — English versus Western saddles, bridles, bit types (snaffle vs. curb), halters, girths/cinches, stirrups, and general saddle-fit concepts (tack_guide); horse age and sex terminology — foal, weanling, yearling, colt, filly, gelding, mare, stallion, broodmare, dam, sire (horse_terminology_guide); general, non-veterinary-diagnostic feeding, hoof-care and grooming basics, always paired with a note to consult a qualified veterinarian or farrier (care_basics_guide); common coat colors and face/leg marking terminology (color_and_markings_guide); the four natural gaits plus notable breed-specific gaits (gait_guide); and a glossary of general equestrian terms (equestrian_glossary).

What it is not

Not veterinary guidance, a riding-lesson substitute, a tack-fitting or sales service, or a breed-registry system of record. care_basics_guide is explicit, general, non-diagnostic information — it never diagnoses, treats, or advises on a specific animal's health, and pairs feeding and hoof-care guidance with a note to consult a qualified veterinarian (and a farrier for hoof-specific questions). tack_guide's saddle-fit concepts are general background, not an individual fitting recommendation. This connector deliberately covers general breeds across all disciplines rather than any one breed in depth — for Arabian-horse breed heritage specifically (the traditional Bedouin strain system, the verified skeletal vertebra-count trait, the historical oral-pedigree tradition, and the breed's global bloodline influence), see the dedicated ansab connector, which this connector defers to by design rather than duplicating.

Tools

Breeds

breed_info — A general horse breed's origin, characteristics and typical use — covers breeds across all disciplines (Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, Clydesdale, Friesian, Appaloosa, Mustang, Percheron, Warmblood, Shetland Pony, Standardbred, Morgan, Andalusian, Icelandic Horse, Tennessee Walking Horse, Paint Horse, Belgian Draft, Haflinger, Welsh Pony, Lipizzaner, Paso Fino, Missouri Fox Trotter, Akhal-Teke and more). For the Arabian, returns a brief overview pointing to the dedicated ansab connector for in-depth breed heritage rather than duplicating it here. Use for "what is a Clydesdale", "tell me about the Quarter Horse", "what is a Warmblood". Args: name.

breed_search — Search horse breeds by partial name, alias, or description text. Use for "which breeds are draft horses", "breeds known for a spotted coat", "gaited horse breeds". Args: query.

Disciplines & tack

discipline_info — One riding discipline explained — Western riding (and its reining/cutting/barrel-racing sub-events), dressage, show jumping, eventing, hunter/equitation, trail riding, driving, and endurance riding — with a factual overview, sub-disciplines, typical tack, and notable breeds. Use for "what is dressage", "what's the difference between hunters and equitation", "what is Western pleasure". Args: name.

tack_guide — Tack and equipment reference — English vs. Western saddles, bridles, bit types (snaffle vs. curb), halters, girths/cinches, stirrups, and general saddle-fit concepts. Use for "what's the difference between English and Western saddles", "what's a snaffle bit", "what is a cinch". Args: item.

Terminology & care

horse_terminology_guide — Horse age and sex terminology explained — foal, weanling, yearling, colt, filly, gelding, mare, stallion, broodmare, dam, sire. Use for "what is a yearling", "what's the difference between a colt and a gelding", "what does dam mean".

care_basics_guide — General, non-veterinary-diagnostic care basics — feeding, hoof care, and grooming — always with a note to consult a qualified veterinarian for any actual horse's health concern and a farrier for hoof-specific issues. Use for "how much hay does a horse need", "how often do horses need their hooves trimmed", "basic horse grooming routine". Args: topic.

Colors, gaits & reference

color_and_markings_guide — Common horse coat colors (bay, chestnut, black, grey, palomino, buckskin, dun, grullo, roan, pinto/paint, appaloosa patterns, cremello/perlino) and face/leg marking terminology (star, snip, stripe, blaze, bald face, coronet, pastern, sock, stocking). Use for "what colors do horses come in", "what is a blaze marking", "what's the difference between a sock and a stocking".

gait_guide — The four natural gaits every sound horse performs — walk, trot, canter, gallop — with beat count and typical speed, plus notable breed-specific gaits: the Tennessee Walking Horse's running walk, the Icelandic Horse's tölt and flying pace, the Paso Fino's gaits, the Missouri Fox Trotter's fox trot, and the Standardbred's pace. Use for "what are the four gaits of a horse", "what is a tölt", "what's special about a Tennessee Walker's gait".

equestrian_glossary — Definitions of common general equestrian terms (hand, withers, poll, conformation, farrier, tack, lead, longeing, cross-tie, gait, green, groundwork, turnout, equitation). Use for "what does withers mean", "what's a hand in horse height", "what does green mean for a horse". Args: term.

Conventions

  • Read-only. Every tool reads public data or computes; nothing is written anywhere and nothing about the user is stored.
  • Result envelope. ok: true with data, or ok: false with a structured error (bad_input, not_found, upstream_error). degraded lists optional sources that were unreachable.
  • Rate limits. Free tier 60 tool calls/minute and 300/day per user (keyed on the user identifier supplied by the host agent, else client IP); Pro keys raise this. Over-limit calls return HTTP 429 with Retry-After. initialize and tools/list are never counted.

Saddle — Privacy Policy

Effective 24 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Saddle is. Saddle is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated general equestrian and horsemanship reference — horse breeds across disciplines, riding disciplines, tack and equipment, horse age/sex terminology, general care basics, coat colors and markings, gaits, and a glossary. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a breed name, a search query, a discipline, a tack item, a care topic, or a glossary term — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Saddle is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

Saddle — Terms of Service

Effective 24 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Saddle connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Saddle returns a hand-curated general equestrian and horsemanship reference — horse breeds across disciplines, riding disciplines, tack and equipment, horse age/sex terminology, general care basics, coat colors and markings, gaits, and a glossary — from data cross-checked against public equine-breed, breed-registry, discipline-organization and horsemanship reference sources at build time. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. A general reference, not veterinary guidance, a riding-lesson substitute, or a tack-fitting/sales service. Saddle is an independent reference tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by any breed registry, discipline organization, government, or institution it describes. care_basics_guide gives general, non-veterinary-diagnostic information only and is never a substitute for a qualified veterinarian's advice about an actual horse's health, feeding, or medical condition, or a qualified farrier's advice about hoof care and shoeing.
  3. Breeds and traditions evolve. Breed descriptions, discipline conventions, and gait descriptions reflect the commonly documented, widely recognized version of each as of the stated build date; some details (breed height ranges, regional naming conventions) vary by registry or source, and the Service's own data gives typical ranges rather than presenting a single figure as universally exact.
  4. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome.
  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is answered from a bundled reference file, and nothing is stored.
  7. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  8. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on the Service, including any decision about the care, purchase, riding, or handling of an actual horse. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  9. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
