Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
project_ideasmatch_projectsget_projecthypothesis_checkscientific_method_referencelist_topicsproject_ideas returns ideas filtered by topic and/or grade band (elementary/middle/high), each with a real filled-in scientific method; get_project looks one up by id. match_projects scores every idea against interests and, optionally, available materials and grade band, returning genuinely ranked matches, not just a filter. scientific_method_reference gives the generic 6-step method, or a specific project's own filled-in version of every step. hypothesis_check checks a hypothesis for the standard if/then/because structure with specific feedback. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing stored.
Sources: Computed locally / hand-curated — 25 project ideas hand-curated with a genuinely filled-in scientific method per idea; the matcher and hypothesis checker are real computed logic; fully local, zero upstream calls

Grade-appropriate science-fair project ideas across biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science, each with a real filled-in scientific method — not a generic template repeated identically.
Science Fair is a bank of 25 hand-curated project ideas spanning biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science, across elementary, middle, and high school grade bands. project_ideas returns ideas filtered by topic and/or grade band; get_project looks one up by id. Every idea has its own genuine testable hypothesis (in if/then/because form), specific independent/dependent/controlled variables, a real materials list, numbered procedure steps, data-collection guidance, and conclusion guidance — written for that idea, not copy-pasted from a shared template. match_projects scores every idea against interests you give it (and, optionally, materials you already have and a grade band), returning the best-ranked matches rather than just a keyword filter. scientific_method_reference gives the generic 6-step scientific method, or — with a project id — that project's own filled-in version of every step. hypothesis_check takes a hypothesis you or a student wrote and checks it for the standard if/then/because structure, with specific feedback on what's missing. Keyless; fully local; nothing stored.
Not a guarantee of a particular science-fair result or judging outcome, and not aligned to any specific school district's or science-fair organization's exact rules or rubric. Not safety supervision: always follow your school's and a supervising adult's guidance for any experiment involving heat, chemicals, sharp tools, or live plants and animals.

What Science Fair is. Science Fair is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf to fetch science-fair project ideas, match ideas to interests, or check a hypothesis. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one request (a topic, grade band, interest keywords, or hypothesis text).
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call, the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is served from a bundled reference file or computed on the fly, and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, or a child's name, age, or school, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — every request is served locally on the server. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. This tool is commonly used by students, parents, or teachers to generate project ideas for children, but no child's name, age, or other personal information is ever requested, received, or stored — only topic, grade band, and interest keywords.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
