connectivity_options_overviewoption_detailcompare_optionsregion_guidanceregions_listdevice_compatibility_checklistconnectivity_glossarychoose_connectivity_optiondata_usage_tipsSimroam is a general, hand-written educational guide to phone-connectivity options while traveling. connectivity_options_overview lists the four common options: local physical SIM, eSIM, international roaming (through your home carrier), and portable WiFi/hotspot rental. option_detail explains one in depth with pros and cons; compare_options lines up several side by side. region_guidance gives general patterns for a travel scenario (EU/EEA roam-like-at-home rules, multi-country regional trips, a single-country extended stay, a short trip or layover); regions_list shows coverage. device_compatibility_checklist covers what to check on your own phone first — unlocked status, eSIM support, dual-SIM capability, network band compatibility. connectivity_glossary defines terms (eSIM, SIM-locked/unlocked, dual SIM/DSDS, roaming, fair use limit, network bands, portable WiFi). choose_connectivity_option gives general guidance matched to a traveler profile. data_usage_tips covers practical, non-carrier-specific advice for managing data abroad. General education about how connectivity options commonly work — it names no real carrier, eSIM provider, or plan/price, and coverage/pricing/eSIM support change constantly and vary by phone model and country. Keyless; fully local; nothing stored.

"Should I get a local SIM or use eSIM?", "how does roaming work in the EU?", "what's the best option for a two-week multi-country trip?" — the connectivity decision every trip starts with, explained generically without steering you toward any specific carrier or provider.
connectivity_options_overview lists the four common ways to stay connected: a local physical SIM card, an
eSIM (a digital SIM profile), international roaming through your home carrier, and a portable WiFi/hotspot
rental. option_detail goes deep on one — how it works, and its real pros and cons. compare_options lines up
several side by side. region_guidance gives general patterns for a travel scenario: the EU/EEA's
"roam-like-at-home" rules, a multi-country regional trip, an extended single-country stay, or a short trip or
layover; regions_list shows what's covered. device_compatibility_checklist covers what to check on your own
phone before you commit to an option — whether it's unlocked, whether it supports eSIM, whether it can run dual
SIM (DSDS) to keep your home number reachable, and network band compatibility. connectivity_glossary defines
the vocabulary: eSIM, SIM-locked vs unlocked, dual SIM/DSDS, roaming, fair use limits, network bands, and
portable WiFi. choose_connectivity_option gives general guidance matched to a traveler profile — a short trip
wanting to keep your home number, a long single-country stay, a multi-country trip, traveling with a group, or
an older phone without eSIM support. data_usage_tips rounds it out with practical, non-carrier-specific advice
for managing data once you're actually there.
General education, not a comparison of real products. It names no real carrier, eSIM provider, or specific plan or price, and it isn't a recommendation for any particular purchase. Coverage, pricing, and eSIM support change constantly and vary by phone model and country. Always check your specific phone's capabilities and your current carrier's actual offers before you travel.

What Sim Roam Guide is. Sim Roam Guide is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a general, hand-written guide to phone-connectivity options while traveling — option lookups, comparisons, region-based guidance, a device checklist, a glossary, situational guidance and data-usage tips. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — an option name, a region/scenario name, a glossary term, or a traveler profile — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from bundled, hand-written content and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything. This Service does not sell SIM cards, eSIMs, or roaming plans, and does not connect to any carrier or provider — it discusses concepts only.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, your phone's IMEI/serial number, or any carrier account information — only the general option/scenario/term text you or your assistant type. We do not build a profile from your queries. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Sim Roam Guide is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
