About

Tally is a fully local game scorekeeping and rules-reference toolkit. score_cribbage_hand computes the real cribbage score (fifteens, pairs, runs, flushes, his nobs) for a 4-card hand plus starter card, with the correct crib-flush rule. score_yahtzee_category scores one 5-dice roll against one official Yahtzee category; yahtzee_best_category checks a roll against every open category and suggests the highest-scoring one. score_bowling_frame scores a complete ten-pin game from its roll sequence, handling strike/spare bonuses including the 10th frame's special rules. poker_hand_winner compares 2+ five-card poker hands with real hand-ranking logic. card_game_rules, board_game_rules_summary, and dice_game_rules give quick-reference rules for common tabletop games. random_team_generator splits a player list into balanced random teams. game_glossary defines common tabletop-game terms. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls.

Sources: Genuine algorithmic scoring implemented and verified against known reference results (a maximum 29-point cribbage hand, a perfect 300-point bowling game); rules summaries hand-curated from common published rules as of build date; fully local, zero upstream calls

What Tally is for

The scorekeeping and rules-lookup questions that come up around any tabletop game night — what does this cribbage hand score, how many points is this bowling frame worth, which poker hand actually wins, what are the rules of Euchre — answered by real computation or a hand-curated reference, without opening a rulebook or a scoring app.

What it does

Real computed scoring, not lookup tables: score_cribbage_hand scores a 4-card hand plus starter card with the full rule set (fifteens, pairs, runs including doubled-rank multipliers, the hand-vs-crib flush distinction, and his nobs). score_yahtzee_category scores one 5-dice roll against one official category, and yahtzee_best_category checks a roll against every category still open on a scorecard and suggests the highest-scoring one. score_bowling_frame scores a complete ten-pin game from its full roll sequence, with correct strike/spare bonus math across all 10 frames including the 10th frame's extra bonus roll(s). poker_hand_winner compares 2 or more five-card poker hands with real hand-ranking logic and reports the winner, or a tie.

Hand-curated rules references: card_game_rules covers common card games not scored above (Uno, Rummy, Hearts, Spades, Euchre, Go Fish, War, Blackjack basics, Solitaire, Crazy Eights, Canasta); board_game_rules_summary covers board and party games (Monopoly, Scrabble scoring basics, Uno, Dominoes, Checkers, Backgammon, Chess basics, Jenga, Charades, Pictionary); dice_game_rules covers dice games (Yahtzee, Farkle, Craps basics, Liar's Dice, Pig). game_glossary defines common tabletop-game terms. random_team_generator splits a player list into balanced random teams for game night.

What it is not

Not a game-playing engine or a rulebook replacement — Tally scores the exact inputs it's given and summarizes rules for quick reference, but it doesn't play a hand for you, track an ongoing game's state, or substitute for a publisher's full official rulebook when a dispute needs resolving precisely. The Craps entry is informational (roll resolution only) and nothing here is gambling advice, betting odds, or a real-money wagering tool.

Tools

Scoring

score_cribbage_hand — Real computed cribbage hand scoring: 2 points per card-combination summing to 15, 2 points per pair, 1 point per card in a run of 3+ (duplicated ranks multiply a run's score), 4 points for a 4-card flush (5 if the starter matches suit too — and in the crib, only the full 5-card flush counts, worth 5), and 1 point for "his nobs" (holding the jack matching the starter's suit). Use for "score this cribbage hand". Args: hand, starter_card, is_crib.

score_yahtzee_category — Real computed Yahtzee scoring for one 5-dice roll against one category, using the official rules (full house needs two distinct numbers at counts 3-and-2; small/large straight need 4/5 consecutive distinct values). Use for "what does this roll score as a full house". Args: dice, category.

yahtzee_best_category — Computes the real score this roll would earn in every category still open, and suggests the highest-scoring one (ties are listed together). Use for "which open category should I use this roll on". Args: dice, available_categories.

score_bowling_frame — Real computed ten-pin bowling score for a complete game from its full roll sequence — strike and spare bonuses are applied correctly across all 10 frames, including the 10th frame's special extra bonus roll(s), and the sequence is validated as a legal game. Use for "score this bowling game". Args: rolls.

poker_hand_winner — Determines the winner among 2+ five-card poker hands using real hand-ranking logic (category, then tiebreak values high to low), and reports a tie when two or more hands are exactly equal. Use for "which of these poker hands wins". Args: hands.

Rules reference

card_game_rules — Hand-curated quick-reference rules (setup, objective, basic play, scoring) for common card games not algorithmically scored elsewhere in Tally. Use for "what are the rules of Euchre", "how do you play Hearts". Args: game.

board_game_rules_summary — Hand-curated quick-reference rules summaries for common board and party games. Use for "how do you score Scrabble", "what are the rules of Pictionary". Args: game.

dice_game_rules — Hand-curated quick-reference rules for common dice games (informational only — the Craps entry covers roll resolution, not betting odds or wagering advice). Use for "what are the rules of Farkle". Args: game.

game_glossary — Definitions of common general tabletop-game terms (meeple, worker placement, push your luck, trick-taking, shedding game, ...). Use for "what's a meeple", "what does push your luck mean". Args: term.

Game night

random_team_generator — Randomly splits a list of player names into num_teams teams, as balanced in size as possible, using a cryptographically-seeded shuffle. Use for "split us into 2 teams", "randomly divide these 6 players into 3 teams". Args: player_names, num_teams.

Conventions

  • Read-only. Every tool reads public data or computes; nothing is written anywhere and nothing about the user is stored.
  • Result envelope. ok: true with data, or ok: false with a structured error (bad_input, not_found, upstream_error). degraded lists optional sources that were unreachable.
  • Rate limits. Free tier 60 tool calls/minute and 300/day per user (keyed on the user identifier supplied by the host agent, else client IP); Pro keys raise this. Over-limit calls return HTTP 429 with Retry-After. initialize and tools/list are never counted.

Privacy policy

Tally — Privacy Policy

Effective 24 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Tally is. Tally is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for game scorekeeping and rules reference: computed cribbage, Yahtzee, bowling, and poker scoring, hand-curated card/board/dice game rules, a glossary, and a random team generator. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one call.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — cards, dice values, bowling rolls, poker hands, a game name, a glossary term, or a list of player names for team splitting — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is answered by local computation or a bundled reference file, and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything. Player names you pass to the team generator are used only to compute that one response and are never retained.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — every tool computes locally or reads from a file bundled with the server. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Tally is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

Tally — Terms of Service

Effective 24 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Tally connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Tally computes real game scores (cribbage, Yahtzee, ten-pin bowling, poker hand comparisons) and returns hand-curated rules references for common card, board, and dice games, a glossary, and a random team generator. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. Not official rules, not gambling. Tally's rules summaries are a quick reference for casual play, not a publisher's official rulebook, and are not affiliated with or endorsed by any game's publisher. The Craps entry is informational only (roll resolution, not betting odds); nothing in the Service is gambling advice, and it does not process real-money bets, accounts, or wagers.
  3. Accuracy. Scoring functions are computed directly from the inputs you provide and are tested against known reference results; rules summaries reflect commonly-played rules as of the build date stated in the Service's own data, and house rules vary — settle disputes by agreement at the table or the publisher's official rules.
  4. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome.
  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is answered by local computation or a bundled reference file, and nothing is stored.
  7. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  8. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on the Service. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  9. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
