What Postal is for

The small lookups that stall a form or a transfer: which area a pincode covers, the pincode of a post office, what place a ZIP or PLZ is, everything about a UK postcode, which bank branch an IFSC belongs to and whether it does UPI, whether an IBAN is typed right, the coordinates and postcode of an address, and the dialing code and emergency number for a country you are visiting.

What it does

India: PIN code → all post offices with type, delivery status, district, division, region, circle and state (India Post data via api.postalpincode.in); post-office name → matching offices and pincodes. World: postal/ZIP code → place, state and coordinates in 60+ countries, or place + state → its codes (Zippopotam.us on GeoNames). UK: postcode → country, region, district, ward, parish, constituency, coordinates and NHS/NUTS codes; autocomplete a partial; outcode summary; nearest postcodes to coordinates (postcodes.io on ONS Open Data). Banking: IFSC → bank, branch, address, city, state, MICR, SWIFT, contact and UPI/NEFT/RTGS/IMPS flags (Razorpay's open IFSC dataset from RBI); IBAN validation with country length, mod-97 checksum, formatted groups and bank/branch/account split for GB, DE, FR, AE and SA; BIC/SWIFT format check. Addresses: forward and reverse geocoding on OpenStreetMap Nominatim with structured parts including postcode. Countries: dialing code, emergency numbers (police, ambulance, fire, and the single number where one exists), postal-code name, format, regex and example, currency and time zone for 62 countries, with format validation.

What it is not

Not an address-verification service: geocoding is OpenStreetMap community data, and Nominatim is limited to one request per second. Not a bank: IBAN and BIC checks are structural (a valid checksum does not mean the account exists). Emergency numbers are compiled from public sources and change occasionally — confirm locally.

Tools

Postal codes

pincode — Indian PIN code → post offices (name, type, delivery status, district, division, region, state); or a post-office name → matching offices and their pincodes. Use for "which area is 411001", "pincode of Andheri East". Args: code, post_office.

postal_code — Postal / ZIP code → place, state and coordinates in 60+ countries (US, CA, DE, FR, ES, IT, IN, BR, MX, JP, AU…), or place + state → its codes. Also validates the code's format for that country. Use for "ZIP 95814", "PLZ 10115", "zip codes of Sacramento CA". Args: country, code, state, place.

uk_postcode — UK postcode lookup (country, region, district, ward, parish, constituency, coordinates), autocomplete a partial postcode, outcode summary, or nearest postcodes to coordinates. Use for "where is SW1A 1AA", "postcodes starting EH1 2". Args: postcode, partial, outcode, latitude, longitude.

Banking

ifsc — Indian bank branch from an IFSC: bank, branch, address, city/state, MICR, SWIFT, contact, and whether UPI, NEFT, RTGS and IMPS are enabled. Use for "which branch is SBIN0000300". Args: code.

iban — Validate an IBAN (country length, mod-97 checksum, formatted groups, bank/branch/account split for GB, DE, FR, AE, SA) or format-check a BIC/SWIFT code. Use for "is this IBAN right", "what bank is BIC DEUTDEFF". Args: iban, bic.

Addresses & countries

geocode — Address or place → coordinates and structured address parts including the postcode (OpenStreetMap Nominatim). Use for "postcode of 10 Downing Street", "coordinates of Koregaon Park". Args: query, country, limit.

reverse_geocode — Coordinates → nearest address with road, locality, city, district, state, postcode and country (OpenStreetMap Nominatim). Use for "what address is 18.52, 73.86". Args: latitude, longitude.

country_codes — Dialing code, emergency numbers, postal-code name/format/example, currency and time zone for a country — or check a postal code's format. Use for "emergency number in Japan", "how to call India", "is 1234 a valid Dutch postcode". Args: country, validate_postal.

Conventions

• Read-only. Every tool reads public data or computes; nothing is written anywhere and nothing about the user is stored.
• Result envelope. ok: true with data, or ok: false with a structured error (bad_input, not_found, upstream_error). degraded lists optional sources that were unreachable.
• Rate limits. Free tier 60 tool calls/minute and 300/day per user (keyed on the user identifier supplied by the host agent, else client IP); Pro keys raise this. Over-limit calls return HTTP 429 with Retry-After. initialize and tools/list are never counted.

Postal — Privacy Policy

Effective 23 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Postal is. Postal is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for postal and banking codes: pincodes, ZIP and postcodes, IFSC branches, IBAN/BIC checks, address geocoding and country dialing and emergency numbers. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the code, address, coordinates or country needed for the lookup.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call (a postal code, a post-office or place name, an IFSC, an IBAN or BIC, an address or coordinates, a country), the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Lookups are forwarded or computed, not stored. Code and address queries are passed to the public sources below; IBAN/BIC validation and country tables run on our server. An IBAN you validate is checked in memory and never stored or forwarded. We do not record your queries or build a profile. Nothing you send is stored, logged in request bodies or used to train anything. Successful upstream answers are cached in memory for up to a week, keyed by the query.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts, account numbers or bank statements or any account credentials. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. api.postalpincode.in (Indian pincodes), Zippopotam.us (world postal codes), postcodes.io (UK postcodes), Razorpay IFSC (bank branches) and OpenStreetMap Nominatim (geocoding) each receive the query and our server's IP address, never yours. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Postal is a general-audience service; we knowingly collect no personal data from anyone.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Postal — Terms of Service

Effective 23 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Postal connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

1. The Service. Postal returns postal, address and banking-code information — pincodes, postal codes, UK postcodes, IFSC branches, IBAN/BIC checks, geocoding and country codes — from public sources and local tables. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
2. Sources and licences. Indian pincodes from India Post data via api.postalpincode.in; world postal codes from Zippopotam.us (GeoNames, CC-BY 4.0); UK postcodes from postcodes.io (ONS and OS OpenData, Open Government Licence); IFSC data from Razorpay's open IFSC repository (RBI data, MIT); geocoding from Nominatim, © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL); IBAN registry lengths, dialing codes, emergency numbers and postal formats are editorial tables of Unify Dynamics LLC.
3. No verification. Results are informational: a valid IBAN checksum or a listed IFSC does not confirm that an account or branch exists or is correct for a payment; geocoding is approximate; emergency numbers should be confirmed locally. Do not rely on the Service for time-critical emergency information.
4. Acceptable use. Do not use the Service to bulk-scrape the sources or to circumvent rate limits. Automated use within the published limits is welcome.
5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is forwarded to the relevant public source or checked here and nothing is stored.

8. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
9. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on the Service. Our total liability is limited to US $100.

When you report a problem, include the question you asked your agent, roughly when, and which agent you used (for example Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini). Never send us passwords, account numbers or ID numbers. Postal never asks for them.
