Everything is presented as general cultural/practical convention, not a fixed rule — usage varies by region, religion, community and personal choice. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; descriptive reference, not fashion-critical commentary.

Profiles of 20+ major garments — saree, lehenga choli, sherwani, kurta pajama, dhoti, salwar kameez, anarkali,
ghagra, mundu, angavastram, dupatta, bandhgala and more — with a description, typical regional association,
common occasions and typical fabrics (garment_info, garment_search); at least eight documented saree
draping styles (Nivi/standard, Bengali, Gujarati/Seedha Pallu, Maharashtrian/Nauvari, Madisar, Coorgi, Assamese
and more) with a brief how-it's-worn description and region (saree_draping_styles); a fabric guide covering
silk types (Banarasi, Kanjeevaram, Chanderi, Tussar, Mysore silk), cotton weaves (Khadi, Chikankari) and other
traditional fabrics, with characteristics and basic care (fabric_guide); general dress conventions by gender
for weddings, festivals, office/daily wear and religious ceremonies (occasion_guide); clothing traditions of
eight major Indian regions — Punjab, Gujarat, Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Kashmir
(regional_style_guide); traditionally associated meanings of colours in Indian clothing contexts
(color_symbolism); washing, storage and ironing guidance per fabric (garment_care_tips); and a glossary of
around a dozen terms — pallu, zari, booti, aanchal, bandhani, ikat and more (garment_glossary).
Not a fashion-critical or shopping tool — Vastra (Garment) doesn't rate, rank or judge anyone's clothing choices, and it isn't a retail catalog. It is a descriptive, cultural/practical reference: garment, occasion and colour conventions vary enormously by region, religion, community, generation and personal choice, and every relevant tool response says so rather than presenting a single convention as a fixed rule. It is also fully local and hand-curated as of its stated build date — not a live fashion-trends feed, and not a substitute for advice from your own family or community on ceremony-specific dress.

What Vastra (Garment) is. Vastra (Garment) is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated Indian traditional-clothing reference: garment profiles, saree draping styles, fabric guides, occasion dress conventions, regional style traditions, colour symbolism, care tips, and a glossary. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a garment name, a search keyword, a region, a fabric name, an occasion, or a glossary term — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from bundled, hand-curated reference files and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Vastra (Garment) is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
