About

Vo2calc estimates VO2max (aerobic fitness) from two published, non-clinical field-test formulas. vo2max_cooper uses the Cooper (1968) 12-minute run test: VO2max = (metres covered − 504.9) / 44.73. vo2max_resting_hr uses the Uth-Sorensen-Overgaard-Pedersen (2004) heart-rate-ratio formula: VO2max = 15.3 × (max heart rate / resting heart rate), using a measured or age-estimated max heart rate. fitness_level categorizes any VO2max value into poor/fair/good/excellent/superior for a given age and sex, using a commonly published style of normative table — both estimator tools attach this automatically when age and sex are given. vo2max_education covers what VO2max is, how a field-test estimate differs from a laboratory test, and safety notes for the Cooper test, which is a near-maximal running effort. Field-test estimates, not a clinical VO2max test — general wellness/educational information, not medical advice. Keyless; computed locally; nothing stored.

Sources: Computed locally from the published Cooper (1968) and Uth-Sorensen-Overgaard-Pedersen (2004) formulas, plus an editorial age/sex normative table; fully local, zero upstream calls

What Vo2calc is for

"What's my VO2max, roughly, without a lab?" — an estimate from a maximal 12-minute run or from resting/max heart rate, plus a sense of whether that number is typically considered good for your age and sex.

What it does

vo2max_cooper estimates VO2max from the Cooper 12-minute run test (1968): run as far as possible in 12 minutes, and VO2max (ml/kg/min) = (metres covered − 504.9) / 44.73. vo2max_resting_hr estimates VO2max from the Uth-Sorensen-Overgaard-Pedersen heart-rate-ratio formula (2004): VO2max = 15.3 × (max heart rate / resting heart rate) — no maximal effort needed, using either a measured max heart rate or an age-based estimate, but correspondingly a rougher number. fitness_level categorizes any VO2max value (from either tool, a lab test, or elsewhere) into poor/fair/good/excellent/superior for a given age and sex, using a commonly published style of normative table — the two estimator tools attach this automatically when age and sex are given. vo2max_education explains what VO2max is and how a field-test estimate differs from a lab test.

What it is not

Not a laboratory VO2max test and not a fitness or medical diagnosis. These are field-test estimates from published, non-clinical formulas — useful for tracking your own trend over time, not a precise clinical number, and individual results vary more than any formula captures. The Cooper test in particular is a near-maximal effort: warm up first, and get medical clearance before attempting it if you are new to exercise, returning after a long break, or have a heart, lung, or other relevant medical condition. The fitness-level bands are one commonly published style of normative table — different publishers' exact cutoffs vary, so treat the category as a general indicator, not a precise percentile.

Vo2calc — Privacy Policy

Effective 28 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Vo2calc is. Vo2calc is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for educational VO2max field-test estimates. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the numbers needed for the calculation (a distance covered, a resting or max heart rate, an age, a sex, or a VO2max value to categorize).

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a distance in metres, a heart rate, an age, a sex, or a VO2max number — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is computed on our server and nothing is stored. The formulas are pure arithmetic on the numbers you send; the normative tables are bundled thresholds. No request is forwarded to any third party. Numbers you send are used for that one answer and are not recorded, logged in request bodies, linked to any identity, or used to train anything.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts, or any health or account records. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

Vo2calc — Terms of Service

Effective 28 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Vo2calc connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Vo2calc returns educational VO2max field-test estimates (the Cooper 12-minute run formula, the Uth-Sorensen-Overgaard-Pedersen heart-rate-ratio formula) and age/sex fitness-level categorization against a commonly published style of normative table. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. Not medical advice, not a diagnostic tool, not a lab test. Vo2calc is general wellness and educational information only. Field-test formulas estimate; they do not measure oxygen consumption directly and carry real error for any one individual. The Cooper test is a near-maximal exercise effort: get medical clearance before attempting it if you are new to exercise, returning after a long break, or have a heart, lung, or other relevant medical condition, and stop for chest pain, unusual shortness of breath, dizziness, or feeling faint. Consult a clinician for anything symptom-related.
  3. Sources. The Cooper 12-minute run formula (Cooper, 1968) and the Uth-Sorensen-Overgaard-Pedersen heart-rate ratio formula (2004) are long-published, widely cited non-clinical estimation methods. The fitness-level bands are an editorial normative table in the general style of published age/sex VO2max categorizations; exact cutoffs vary between publishers and this table is not attributed to any one source.
  4. Acceptable use. Do not use the Service to circumvent rate limits or to present its output as a clinical VO2max measurement or a medical diagnosis. Automated use within the published limits is welcome.
  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is answered on our server and nothing is stored.
  7. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  8. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss, including any injury from attempting a fitness test, arising from use of or reliance on the Service. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  9. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
