eligibility_checkerscheme_infoscheme_searchschemes_by_categorydocument_checklistscheme_glossaryration_card_categoriespm_kisan_calculatorinsurance_schemes_calculatorlist_schemesschemes_by_categoryYojana bundles a hand-curated directory of major Indian central government welfare schemes. list_schemes and scheme_search browse and search across name, benefit and ministry. scheme_info gives full detail: objective, benefits, eligibility, how to apply, documents needed, helpline, official portal. schemes_by_category filters by agriculture, health, housing, energy, financial-inclusion, pension, insurance, business, skill-development, women, food-security or employment. eligibility_checker takes whatever details you give (age, gender, rural/urban, occupation, BPL status, house ownership, caste category) and returns schemes not contradicted by them. document_checklist lists what a scheme needs. scheme_glossary defines common terms (BPL, SECC, DBT, EWS/LIG/MIG, and more). ration_card_categories explains AAY/PHH/BPL/APL. pm_kisan_calculator and insurance_schemes_calculator (PMJJBY/PMSBY) compute the well-known fixed scheme amounts. Keyless; fully local; hand-curated reference, not a government portal.
Sources: Hand-curated from each scheme's officially published rules; fully local, zero upstream calls

A hand-curated directory of 23 major central government schemes across agriculture, health, housing, energy, financial inclusion, pension, insurance, business, skill development, women's welfare, food security and employment — PM-KISAN, Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas Yojana (urban and rural), Ujjwala, Sukanya Samriddhi, Atal Pension Yojana, PMJJBY, PMSBY, Mudra Yojana, Stand-Up India, PMKVY, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, the NSAP pensions (old age, widow, disability), One Nation One Ration Card, PM SVANidhi, PM Vishwakarma, MGNREGA, Kisan Credit Card, PMFBY crop insurance, and Jan Dhan Yojana. Search by keyword, get full detail for one scheme (objective, benefits, eligibility, how to apply, documents needed, helpline, official portal), or browse a category. A rule-based eligibility checker takes whatever details you give — age, gender, rural/urban, occupation, BPL status, house ownership, caste category — and returns schemes whose stated rules aren't contradicted by them (a starting shortlist, not a determination). A document checklist per scheme, a glossary of terms used across schemes (BPL, SECC, DBT, EWS/LIG/MIG and more), the four ration-card categories with typical entitlement, a PM-KISAN running-total calculator, and a PMJJBY/PMSBY age-eligibility, premium and cover lookup.
Not a government portal or a live database — it's a hand-curated reference from each scheme's officially published rules at build time. Scheme terms, income ceilings and premiums are revised periodically, and states often add their own top-up benefits or additional criteria on top of the central scheme. The eligibility checker is deliberately conservative (it only excludes a scheme when a detail you gave clearly contradicts a rule it states, and treats anything you didn't mention as unknown), so a result here is a lead to follow up on, not a guarantee of eligibility or approval. Always confirm current terms and complete the actual application on the scheme's official portal (linked in every scheme's detail) or with your local government office.
list_schemes — The full directory: every scheme covered, with its ministry, category and one-line objective. Use for "what schemes do you know about", to browse before narrowing with scheme_search or schemes_by_category.
scheme_search — Search schemes by keyword across name, objective, benefits, category and ministry. Use for "housing schemes", "farmer support schemes". Args: query, limit.
scheme_info — Full detail for one scheme: objective, benefits, eligibility rules, how to apply, documents required, helpline and official portal. Use for "what's Ayushman Bharat", "how do I apply for PMAY". Args: scheme.
schemes_by_category — List all schemes in a category. Use for "pension schemes", "insurance schemes". Args: category.
eligibility_checker — A rule-based eligibility scan across all schemes: lists schemes whose stated eligibility rules are not contradicted by the details you give. Any detail you leave out is treated as unknown, not disqualifying, so results are a starting shortlist, not a guarantee — always confirm on the scheme's own portal. Use for "am I eligible for any schemes" — give whatever details you know. Args: age, gender, rural, occupation, is_bpl, owns_pucca_house, caste_category.
document_checklist — The documents typically required to apply for one scheme. Use for "what documents do I need for PM-KISAN". Args: scheme.
scheme_glossary — Definitions of common terms used across government schemes (BPL, SECC, DBT, EWS/LIG/MIG, etc). Use for "what does BPL mean". Args: term.
ration_card_categories — The four ration-card categories (AAY, PHH, BPL, APL): who typically qualifies and the typical monthly entitlement. Use for "what's the difference between AAY and BPL ration cards".
pm_kisan_calculator — Total PM-KISAN income support received given a number of installments (₹2,000 each, 3 per year, ₹6,000/year). Use for "PM-KISAN total after 9 installments". Args: installments_received.
insurance_schemes_calculator — Eligibility, premium and cover for PMJJBY (life insurance) and PMSBY (accident insurance) at a given age. Use for "can a 52-year-old join PMJJBY or PMSBY". Args: age.
ok: true with data, or ok: false with a structured error (bad_input, not_found, upstream_error). degraded lists optional sources that were unreachable.Retry-After. initialize and tools/list are never counted.agent@connectorbay.com · connectorbay.com/yojana/support

What Yojana is. Yojana is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a directory of Indian government welfare schemes: search, detail, eligibility screening, document checklists, a glossary, and a couple of calculators. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a search keyword, a scheme name, a category, or, for the eligibility checker, whichever personal details you choose to give it (age, gender, rural/urban, occupation, BPL status, house ownership, caste category) — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query, including any eligibility details you enter, is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, your Aadhaar, PAN, or any government ID or account number, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire scheme directory is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. For users in India, California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Yojana is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
