Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing stored.
Sources: Tropical-cyclone-season basin date ranges verified via web search against current official monitoring-agency descriptions (NOAA National Hurricane Center, Japan Meteorological Agency, India Meteorological Department, Meteo France, Australian Bureau of Meteorology). Climate-zone archetypes reflect the standard Koppen climate classification. Climate-normals examples are hand-curated, dated illustrations of well-established regional patterns, not a live climate-normals feed. Fully local; zero upstream calls.

"When's the best time to visit somewhere?" is rarely one answer — it's a trade-off between weather, crowds and price that shifts through the year in a pattern set by the destination's climate type. Climate Window teaches that framework rather than guessing at live weather it doesn't have.
methodology_overview explains the framework: identify the climate archetype, find the shoulder seasons, and weigh
weather vs crowds vs price for the specific trip. climate_zone_archetype gives the general seasonal pattern and
best-time heuristic for a standard, Koppen-style climate zone — tropical rainforest, tropical monsoon, tropical
savanna, hot desert, Mediterranean, humid subtropical, temperate oceanic, continental, or polar/alpine (zone_list
shows them all). climate_normals_reference gives a handful of verified, dated illustrative examples pairing a
well-known region (Mumbai, Bangkok, Cairo, Rome, London, Singapore, Sydney) with its recognized climate archetype —
not a live or exhaustive database. cyclone_season_reference gives web-verified tropical-cyclone/hurricane/typhoon
season date ranges by ocean basin and the agency that defines them. hemisphere_season_lookup is a pure
computation: given a month, it returns the meteorological season in the Northern vs Southern Hemisphere.
best_time_framework gives the relevant guidance for whichever of weather, crowds, or price matters most.
compare_zones puts two archetypes side by side. trip_timing_checklist is a practical pre-trip question list.
climate_glossary defines terms like shoulder season and climate normal.
Climate Window is not live weather and not a current-conditions forecast — it cannot tell you the actual weather for a specific date. Climate patterns are long-run averages; any given trip can differ from them, and patterns themselves shift over time. The climate-normals examples are a small, dated, illustrative set, not a comprehensive database — always check a near-term forecast close to your actual travel date.

What Climate Window is. Climate Window is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated, fully local seasonal-travel-timing reference — a methodology, climate-zone archetypes, illustrative climate-normal examples, cyclone-season date ranges, and a glossary. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a climate zone name, a region name, an ocean basin, a month number, a stated priority, or a glossary term — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, or your actual travel plans, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Climate Window is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
