Real questions, and the tools your agent calls to answer them.
variety_infovariety_searchvarieties_by_regionripeness_stages_guidenutrition_infoculinary_pairing_guidecultivation_basicsstorage_guidedate_glossaryNakhla (Date Palm) is a hand-curated date-palm and dates variety reference. variety_info gives one date variety's origin region, flavor and texture profile, typical size, the ripeness stage it's typically harvested and sold at, and typical culinary use; variety_search does a keyword search across name, alias, region and flavor/texture. varieties_by_region groups the 19 varieties by origin region (Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Tunisia, Algeria, Iran, UAE, Egypt, Morocco). ripeness_stages_guide explains the four botanical ripeness stages a date passes through on the palm — kimri, khalal, rutab and tamr — and what changes at each. nutrition_info gives nutrition facts per serving, USDA-verified for Medjool and Deglet Noor specifically and a typical range for other varieties, always marked informational only, not medical or dietary advice. culinary_pairing_guide covers traditional pairings (nuts, tahini, Arabic coffee, date syrup, ma'amoul, khoshaf) and modern ones (cheese, dark chocolate, smoothies). cultivation_basics covers pollination (including the historical hand-pollination practice), harvest season timing, and general climate/soil needs, as a general reference rather than a personalized growing guide. storage_guide covers how to store dates by ripeness stage and variety for freshness. date_glossary defines about a dozen terms (tamr, rutab, khalal, kimri, dibs, nawah, khoos, jummar, and more). For the religious side of Ramadan (prayer times, the fasting calendar), see the sibling salah connector; for iftar dishes and Ramadan recipes, see the sibling matbakh connector; for Arabic coffee itself, see the sibling qahwa connector. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls.
Sources: Hand-curated against standard, widely-published horticultural and culinary sources; nutrition figures cross-checked against USDA FoodData Central where a variety has its own USDA entry (Medjool, Deglet Noor); fully local, zero upstream calls

A profile for each of 19 major date varieties spanning Saudi Arabia (Al-Qassim, Al-Madinah, Al-Ahsa), Iraq,
Tunisia, Algeria, Iran, the UAE, Egypt and Morocco — origin, flavor and texture, typical size, the ripeness
stage it's typically sold at, and typical use (variety_info, variety_search); varieties grouped by origin
region (varieties_by_region); the four botanical ripeness stages a date passes through on the palm — kimri,
khalal, rutab and tamr — with what changes at each and why it matters (ripeness_stages_guide); nutrition facts
cross-checked against USDA FoodData Central for the two cultivars USDA tracks individually (Medjool and Deglet
Noor), with a typical range for other varieties, always marked informational only (nutrition_info); traditional
and modern culinary pairings (culinary_pairing_guide); date-palm cultivation basics — pollination biology and
the historical hand-pollination practice, harvest season timing, climate and soil needs
(cultivation_basics); how to store dates by ripeness stage and variety (storage_guide); and a glossary of
about a dozen terms like tamr, rutab, dibs and khoos (date_glossary).
Not medical or dietary advice — nutrition figures are for general reference and food-composition curiosity, and anyone managing blood sugar, calorie intake or a health condition should talk to a doctor or registered dietitian. Not a personalized growing guide — cultivation content is general horticultural reference, not advice tuned to a specific climate, soil or grove. Not a religious resource — Ramadan's fasting calendar and prayer times live in the separate salah connector, and Ramadan iftar dishes and recipes generally live in the separate matbakh connector; Nakhla stays strictly to the date fruit and palm themselves. Fully local, zero upstream calls, nothing stored.
variety_info — A date variety's origin region, flavor and texture profile, typical size, the ripeness stage it's typically harvested and sold at, and typical culinary use. Use for "tell me about Medjool dates", "what's special about Ajwa dates". Args: name.
variety_search — Search the 19 date varieties in this reference by partial name, alias, origin region, or flavor/texture keyword. Use for "which dates are chewy and caramel-like", "do you have anything on Sukkary". Args: query.

What Nakhla (Date Palm) is. Nakhla (Date Palm) is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated date-palm and dates variety reference: variety profiles, ripeness stages, nutrition facts, cultivation basics, storage guidance, culinary pairings, and a glossary. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a date variety name, a keyword, a region name, or a glossary term — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Nakhla (Date Palm) is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
