bible_passagebible_searchgita_versegita_searchhukamnamagurbanijewish_textdhammapadatao_te_chingdaily_readingScripture gives an assistant the actual text of sacred writings with reference and translation named. Bible: any passage, range or chapter in 17 public-domain translations (World English Bible default; KJV, ASV, Douay-Rheims, Latin Vulgate, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Chinese, Czech, Cherokee), full-text KJV search by phrase or words with book and testament filters, and the book list. Bhagavad Gita: every verse with Devanagari, IAST transliteration, English by Sivananda, Purohit, Gambirananda, Adidevananda and Prabhupada and Hindi by Tejomayananda; chapter names and summaries; search across all 700 verses. Sikh: the daily Hukamnama, any ang of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, a shabad by id and Gurmukhi search, each line with transliteration and English/Punjabi translation. Jewish: Tanakh, Talmud, Mishnah, Midrash and more from Sefaria by reference, in English or Hebrew, with version and licence. Dhammapada (Bhikkhu Sujato, CC0, with Pali) and Tao Te Ching (Legge) by verse or chapter, with search. A daily reading — the same for everyone on a date — from one tradition or all. The KJV, Gita, Dhammapada and Tao are bundled, so search works offline; nothing is stored.
Sources: bible-api.com + bundled KJV; vedicscriptures.github.io (bundled Gita); GurbaniNow; Sefaria; SuttaCentral (Sujato, CC0); James Legge (1891)

One connector covers the Bible, the Bhagavad Gita, the Guru Granth Sahib, the Jewish canon on Sefaria, the Dhammapada and the Tao Te Ching, so an assistant can read Psalm 23, give Gita 2.47 in Sanskrit and five translations, read today's Hukamnama from Amritsar, quote Pirkei Avot in Hebrew or English, and find the Dhammapada verse about hatred — and answer "what does the Bible/Gita say about X" with real search.
Bible passages, ranges and chapters in 17 public-domain translations (World English Bible by default; KJV, ASV, Douay-Rheims, Latin Vulgate, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Chinese, Czech, Cherokee…), full-text KJV search by phrase or words with book/testament filters, and the book list. Gita verses with Devanagari, IAST transliteration, English by Sivananda, Purohit, Gambirananda, Adidevananda and Prabhupada, Hindi by Tejomayananda; chapter summaries; search across all 700 verses. Sikh: the daily Hukamnama, any ang of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, a shabad by id, Gurmukhi search — each line with transliteration and English/Punjabi translation. Jewish texts by Sefaria reference in English or Hebrew with version and licence. The Dhammapada (Sujato, CC0, with Pali) and the Tao Te Ching (Legge) by verse or chapter, with search. A daily reading across traditions.
Scripture is not a commentary or a theology; it returns texts and leaves interpretation to the reader and their tradition. Translations are the public-domain or openly licensed ones (KJV, WEB, Legge, Sujato), which can read archaically; modern copyrighted translations (NIV, ESV, JPS 1985…) are not included. The Quran is served in depth by the separate Quran connector.

What Scripture is. Scripture is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf to retrieve sacred texts: Bible passages and search, Bhagavad Gita verses, the Sikh Hukamnama and Guru Granth Sahib, Jewish texts from Sefaria, the Dhammapada, the Tao Te Ching and a daily reading. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the reference or search words needed for the lookup.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call (a reference, a chapter or verse number, a search phrase), the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Lookups are forwarded or served locally, not stored. The King James Version, the Gita, the Dhammapada and the Tao Te Ching are bundled, so those lookups and all searches never leave our server. Other passages are requested from the sources below by reference only. Nothing you send is stored, logged in request bodies, profiled or used to train anything. We do not infer or record religious affiliation: a request for a text is a request for a text. Successful upstream answers are cached in memory for up to 24 hours, keyed by the reference, to reduce load on the sources.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, contacts, accounts or credentials for any service. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. bible-api.com (Bible passages in translations other than the bundled KJV), GurbaniNow (Hukamnama, ang, shabad and Gurmukhi search), and Sefaria (Jewish texts). Each receives the reference or search words and our server's IP address, never yours. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. For users in California, the EU/UK and elsewhere, our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Scripture is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
